U.S. locations

22nd Annual East Coast Gift
& Variety Show.
MindTrek VR and Australia-based Zero Latency will open
two new multiplayer free-roam virtual reality arenas in the
U.S. later this year.
MindTrek has signed an area development deal with Zero
Latency to open arenas in Woburn, Mass., this summer and
Marlborough, Mass., this fall.
MindTrek will also open an arena in Philadelphia before
the end of this year. Plans are underway for more arenas to
open in the region during 2018.
“We were drawn to Zero Latency’s technology as they
are the only company offering true free-roam gaming while
accommodating more simultaneous players than anything
else on the market,” said MindTrek co-founder David Rzep-
ski.
Zero Latency-powered arenas have no physical walls or
obstacles, which mean players walk, explore, and fight their
way through various virtual terrains.
The new arenas in the Greater Boston area and Phila-
delphia locations join other Zero Latency-powered arenas
currently in retail operations on four continents. For more

UNIS makes
appearances at
industry events
Universal Space showcased its Pirate’s Hook (2-player)
game and the new water game Panning for Gold at Betson
Enterprises’ booth during the recent New Jersey Amusement
Association’s 22nd Annual East Coast Gift & Variety Show at
the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City.
Both games attracted much attention from buyers who
were looking to update their location and to add some
uniqueness to their current lineups. In Panning for Gold,
players use the controls to scoop up as many gold nuggets as
possible and dump their treasure onto the unique weighing
platform. The heavier the nuggets, the more tickets won.
UNIS was also a sponsor at the Face 2 Face Entertain-
ment Conference in March. George Smith of the Family
Entertainment Group and a co-organizer of the F2FEC intro-
duced his top 100 must have games. UNIS’ Pirate’s Hook
(4-player), Safari Ranger (4-player), Ducky Splash, Duo Drive,
and Up and Away all made the list. For more information,

American Vending
Sales adopts AVS
Companies
The Pelican Group
expands client list
across the U.S.
American Vending Sales has announced that it will now
operate under the name AVS Companies in all branches,
effective immediately. The change comes after a year of
expansion, which saw
the company acquire
Lieberman Distribut-
ing, Midwest Equip-
ment Sales, and H.A.
Franz & Co.
“While it is a big
part of our business,
AVS has been much
more than vending sales for years,” said Vince Gumma,
president of AVS Companies. “With the changes we were
already making as a result of our new locations, we felt this
was the perfect time to rebrand.”
