First graduates in Face Place
Distributor Certification Program
Apple Industries recently provided
a day-long series of workshops and
seminars as the kickoff of its new Face
Place Distributor Certification Program
held at company offices in Greenvale,
N.Y.
In attendance were
representatives from
Betson Enterprises head-
quarters in Carlstadt, N.J.;
Betson Advance in Syra-
cuse, N.Y.; Betson Balti-
more in Baltimore, Md.;
and Betson Philadelphia
in Bensalem, Pa.
Allen Weisberg, CEO,
explained the decision to
launch this program in simple terms:
“Our industry, as well as our products,
are ever changing and evolving.”
This new program is designed to

make distributors experts on every-
thing about Face Place Photo Booths,
including the networked technology,
Smile 2.0 operating system, graphics
updates, software capabilities, the Prod-
uct Fulfillment Program,
and much more.
Scott Avery, Chief
Operating Officer, said,
“Face Place Photo Booths
continually improve as
our engineering and mar-
keting teams make fre-
quent, ongoing advances
and download them over
our network to units on
location.
“Whether you’re talking about a
Face Place Scene Machine or a Photo
Studio Deluxe, it’s not the same prod-
uct from month to month because we

keep downloading new features and
capabilities to each networked unit
on location. In fact, sometimes a Face
Place unit can change dramatically
from week to week or even over the
course of a few days.”
Apple staff took the Betson repre-
sentatives through a comprehensive
Face Place curriculum with Weisberg
starting the opening session.
Joe DiGirolamo, Marketing Coordi-
nator, gave a quick introduction to the
new Apple Web site, which now fea-
tures technical and marketing informa-
tion that distributors can use to assist
operators, as well as daily updates of
information, blog posts, and more.
Mike Bloomfield, longtime Director
of Research & Development/Informa-
tion Technology, talked about back-
end software development and demon-
