That magical music
machine through
the years
4 8
Humble begi nnings marked the
debut of the first jukebox I 00 years
ago. It's hard to imagine that
earliest machine considering the
tec hnology packed in today's CD
jukeboxes. Each decade has brought
advancements and musical pleasures
enjoyed by generation after
generation. We salute the jukebox
for being such a valuable part of our
heritage. We 've also included other
articles on the viability of 45s,
jukebox sound systems, a
manufacturer's outlook, and a trio of
coinmen interviews with jukebox
operators.
Columbus sets sail
to new world
of coin slots

We've all heard about the proposed
'· new" do llar coin, one that looks
like the Italian ex plo re r Columbus
instead of American suffragette
Susan B. Anthony. There's no doubt
of the positive implications to the
coin-op industry, especially in
regard to vending. Public apathy is
the major stumbling block to this
coinage reform.
