EQUIPMENT POLL
Buying the right game is a "make-or-break" proposition for the operator, who must have both monthly
and ongoing analyses of game performance. This chart is designed to give the operator information
he needs to guide his purchases. The "longevity indicator" will tell him how long the game has remained
high on the chart. The number of weeks on the Top 10 is important, as is the total number of weeks
on the chart. Future months will include how long the game was in coin-op before being released
for the home market. Look to the chart each month for addition al polling information.

Note: Analyzing game income is difficult because of the many variables; for example, arcade games
may not earn as well in street locations. A game that appears in the lower part of the Top 10 listing
may have a lot of "10s," but also many low ratings. This indicates that the operator who rates the game
low should consider moving the game-it has the potential to be a 10 in the right spot.
As our chart unfolds, it's interesting to see that half of the Top 10 games are pinballs. This integrated
list may help operators make better choices. Assigning points for position (#1 =50, #25=25), then keep-
ing a running total, will in time give an accurate indicator of a game's earning power. RoadB/asters
and 720 Degrees are examples of games that may not be in the Top 10 at present but continue to
earn long after games listed above them are dead. New indicators will be added as the chart develops.
