At presstime Play Meter learned that the district attorney 's office in Westchester County
New York recently raided locations with video poker machines . One source said that the agents
arrested operators, distributors, and bar owners and that 120 agents participated in the raid on
one day. Complete details will appear in the November 1 issue.

Rock-Oia recently announced the appointment of three distributors for its phonograph
line. This brings the number of Rock-Oia distributors in North America to 47 .
State Sales in Baltimore is the new U.S. distributor, while the Canadian appointments are
Monarch Coin, Ltd . in Winnipeg, Manitoba , and Alberta Shuffleboards (EDM) Ltd. in Edmonton ,
Alberta .

Bally Sente's executive offices are now located at 1287 Lawrence Station Road , Sunnyvale,
CA 94089. The new telephone number is 408/ 744-1414.
Konami has started PCB conversion kit seminars to help operators in the conversion of
upright video games to new Konami product.
The first seminar was held August 24 at London Distributing Corp. in Milwaukee during its
" Operator's Day ' 84." The seminar was led by newly appointed Director of Marketing Rene
Lopez.
Lopez believes these seminars are important to operators because they will inform them on
the installation ·of conversion kits so they can save time and money by doing the installations
themselves.

Carol Mart Porth was promoted to director, advertising and sales promotion , from
manager, advertising and sales promotion at Bally .
Porth ' s responsibilities include corporate advertising and sales promotion , as well as trade
shows and special events. She will also continue to work with the divisions and subsidiaries of the
corporation .

Pioneer Electronic Corp. will introduce a video jukebox this fall. The tentatively named
Videobox holds 60 discs, each measuring 20 centimeters in diameter. A disc can ca·rry 600 titles. A
song and video clip are retrieved within 15 seconds.
The Videobox was exhibited at the summer Chicago Consumer Electronics Show in early
June. Pioneer President Seiya Matsumoto said that many people are interested in the Videobox .

Woburn Vending, located in Woburn , Massachusetts, provided Olympic soccer athletes the
use of video and pinball machines : Woburn Vending set the machines on free play for the
athletes while they lived in the Quincy House at Harvard University prior to their departure for
Los Angeles. The director of operations for the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee asked
Larry Levine, president of Woburn Vending, if the firm could supply the equipment . Woburn
Vending is the major supplier of amusement machines at Harvard.
