..... Starting next month, PLAY METER magazine will feature
a new addition to its "Technical Topics'' section-- a
serialization of the complete Kurz Kasch correspondence
course for electronic technology. This course, which was
marketed by Kurz Kasch from 1973 through June 1980, was
designed to help operators and their technicians understand
the basics of electronics, giving them a greater understanding
of logic. Recognizing the absence of any suitable self-help
electronics program for the coin-op industry, Kurz Kasch, with
the aid of the University of Dayton, designed t-e four-part
course consisting the following: (1) Di~ital Circuit Design:
(2) I.C. Logic Design; (3) Power Supply Design: and (4) MOS/FET
% J/FET Circuit Design. The Kurz Kasch course was accredited
by the Ohio State Board of Education and recommended and
approved by the AMOA. The reprint of the entire course is being
co-sponsored by Kurz Kasch and PLAY VETER magazine in
hopes of finally offering to operators and their technicians
a comprehensive self-study course to upgrade their understanding
of the technology that has pervaded the coin-operated amusement

pending in January, ~ith major implications for the coin-op
games industry. A leading video manufacturer has brought
26 respondents before the judicial bench which protects
U.S. industry from imported goods that may infringe on domestic
producers' rights. The issue was infringement on games'
copyright in the United States, and it was the first time
the coin -op industry had taken the matter to a definitive
judicial review. Details of the judicial decision will
