Pizza Time Theatre has unveiled
an aggressive summer expansion
program that includes opening ope-
rations in Sacramento , Huntington
Beach, and Stockton . The company ,
which presently has three units in
Northern California , combines a
pizza restaurant with coin -operated
games and amusements and a
system of three -dimensional, com-
puter-controlled animals .
"We now have sufficient data from
the prototypes ," said founder Nolan
Bushnell , "to validate the strength of
our concept . Based on the idea's
workability and profitability , we've
made a decision to move quickly into
the Los Angeles basin. I perceive this
first Southern California store as the
forerunner of dozens more to open in
that area ."
The Sacramento location in Florin
Mall will seat 350 in its 10,800
square feet , and is looking towards
an August 15 opening .
In Huntington Beach , Pizza Time
Theatre has purchased a former
Albertson 's Supermarket near
McFadden. Completion there is
scheduled for July 15. This unit also
will seat 350 and will , coincidentally ,
house the corporation's Southern
California district offices .
The third unit , scheduled to open
around Labor Day , is in Stockton's
Venetian Square.
"Other areas where we're negoti-
ating space ," concluded Bushnell ,
" include San Diego , Sunnyvale ,
Santa Ana , Fremont , Milpitas, Santa
Rosa , Redding , and Fairfield. "
