CALENDAR
FROM THE EDITOR
Welcome to the year 1978. Welcome to the fourth volume of PLAY
METER , and welcome to our annual Directory Issue . The new year means
new challenges and new goals .
To help you , the operator, meet the challenges and goals, we have put
together what we consider is the most complete and comprehensive
Directory Issue this industry has ever seen. It includes all the new manu-
facturers from the recent trade shows and , in effect , obsoletes all existing
directories , including our own from last January .
As an added bonus, this year's Directory is designed to be easily
removed from the regular issue for ready reference all year round .
Simply remove the center staple located in the exact center of this issue ,
and you will have two separate books-- your regular January issue and
your handy 1978 Directory .
I think you will find your Directory more useful to you as a separate
book rather than having it sandwiched between regular editorial
material .
This month's offerings include a wrapup of PLAY METER's review
of all the latest games . Pinball expert Roger C . Sharpe , fresh from a
television show appearance on NBC's Today Program , examines the issue
of whether or not pinball is a game of skill or a game of chance . Other
features include a preview of the upcoming Amusement Trades Exhibition
(A.T.E.) to be held In London , England at the end of this month . And
there's lots more!
There's plenty here to help you get off on the right foot for this
New Year .
Sincerely ,
January 13-15
