Krakauer Bros. Announce
New Piano Back Construction
Krakauer Bros., New York recently
announced a new piano back construe
tion which is exclusive with them and
has been given a characterization as
"the world's strongest piano back."
This back was shown at the conven-
tion which took place in July in Chi-
cago. It has seven posts made of extra-
heavy genuine Sitka spruce. Every post
is braced to each other and the brac-
ings follow the slant of the strings
and is thus, it is claimed, best able to
support their pull. The company also
claims that this back keeps the Kra-
kauer pianos in perfect tune much
longer under all climatic conditions.
Another feature is the fact that the

Of particular value to the music in-

scope of interests music covers, the
article selects eight instruments for ex-
amples. They are: the violin, "poet
among the strings"; the piano, "friend
and faithful companion"; the cello,
"somber, majestic as death"; the harp,
"delicate as shifting clouds"; French
horn, "as old as man himself"; the
guitar, "a gift of antiquity"; the bas-

struments."
