Visit Wurlitzer Plant in De Kalb
Ninety-four sisters, all music instruc-
tors in the parochial schools of Chicago
spent a day recently going through the
Rudolph Wurlitzer plant in DeKalb,
Mr. Benson outlined the manner in
which the Wurlitzer organization has
viewed the market and created a piano
to meet the need.
that Roy W. Carlson, Assistant Secre-
tary and Divisional Comptroller of the
Company's North Tonawanda, New
York Division, has been promoted to
the position of Comptroller of the Com-
pany effective at once. His office will
be in Chicago, and he succeeds Ralph
E. Walline, who passed away on Aug-
ust 21. Mr. Carlson has resigned his
office as Assistant Secretary of the Com-
pany.
Mr. Carlson joined the North Tona-
wanda Division of the Company on
November 2, 1942 as an auditor, and
during the past ten years, through a
series of promotions, had advanced to
the position of Assistant Secretary and
North Tonawanda Divisional Comptrol-
ler. •
Joe Lederfine Representing
Krakauer in Middle West
Al S. Zeisler, vice president and
Sales manager of Krakauer Bros., New
York has announced the appointment
of Joe Lederfine as representative of
the company in Illinois, Wisconsin,
Minnesota and Iowa.

The tour, was arranged on the Chi-
cago end by the Wurlitzer retail store
in charge of George Vigorito.
At DeKalb the Wurlitzer manage-
ment entertained the sisters, the Chi-
cago retail store members and factory
officials at a luncheon served at the
Kishwaukee country Club. There were
132 served at noon.
At this luncheon speech making was
kept at a minimum, Mr. Vigorito in-
troduced J. E. Rolfing of DeKalb, as-
sistant to the vice president, and Wal-
ter R. Benson, assistant to the sales
manager. Mr. Rolfing gave the history
WURLITZER
of the Wurlitzer organization, stressing
the recent outstanding development in
the manufacture of pianos and company
policy.
Concluding the session was an ex-
planation by Joe Daurer of the Wur-
litzer national advertising program.
Each sister registered before leaving,
in order that she might receive a photo-
graph of the group.

John H. McCullough, who joined the
Rudolph Wurlitzer Co. in July, 1949,
has been promoted to the position of
Sales Representative for the Northeast-
ern territory by the Organ Division of
the company at North Tonawanda, New
York.
"Big John." as he is affectionately
called by his many friends and close
business associates, is a native of Buf-
falo, N. Y., and attended Cornell Uni-
versity later winning his Bachelor of
Music degree as a piano and organ
major at Fredonia State College.
This appointment culminates a very
successful career which started when
