Louis G. LaMair Becomes
Vice-Pres. Everett Piano Co.
George H. Stapely, President of the
Everett Piano Co., South Haven, Mich,
has announced the appointment of
Louis G. LaMair as Vice-President of
the company. This announcement was
made during the buffet dinner and cock-
tail party which was held by the Ever-
ett Piano Co. at the Waldorf-Astoria
during the Convention.
Mr. LaMair is very well-known
throughout the entire industry, having
been connected with Lyon & Healy,
Inc., Chicago ever since he graduated
from Notre Dame, and for several years
having been President of that com-
pany. He is a past president of the Na-
tional Association of Music Merchants.
In fact, he was the first president after
the reorganization of this association,
and through his efforts a great many of
the improvements in the organization
were effected during his regime. He
was also instrumental in forming the
American Music Conference of which
he is president at the present time. All
through his career he has been actively
engaged in various projects to promote
music and create ways and means for
selling musical instruments. Always
having been connected with the retail
division of the industry, he now will
brine his vast experience in that branch
to the manufacturing branch of th p
business as Vice-President of the
Everett Piano Co.
Mr. LaMair was signallv honored at
the banquet of the National Association
of Music Merchants which was held in
the Waldorf-Astoria last month, when
he was presented with a Certificate of
Achievement for the many things that

The accompanying illustration was
taken in the Everett exhibit room by
the REVIEW photographer, at which
time it was learned that Mr. Stapely
and Mr. LaMair are both natives of
Lafayette, Ind.. having been born in
that city. While Mr. LaMair graduated
from Notre Dame. Mr. Stapel is a
graduate of Purdue University.
Mr. LaMair spent most of the time
during the convention receiving the con-
gratulations of his many friends in the
industrv.

Story & Clark Introduced a Corner Piano
and a Church Piano at Convention
Two innovations were presented at
the Convention by the Story & Clark
Piano Co. of Chicago. One was the new
"Coronet", the first piano ever to be
an id having the appearance of a typical
kinot organ for church purposes.

sell who was manager of these depart-
ments for many years and who has re-
tired after 42 years with the Wanamaker
organization.
Mr. Cohen has spent practically all
his business life in the retail piano busi-

designed for corner placement. This
new piano is 371/2 inches high and is
available in mahogany, limed oak,
blonde and ebony finished, or custom
finished to match any sample. In order
to enable this instrument to set in a
corner, it is 39 inches deep at the corner
end, and 24 inches deep at the other
end. It is equipped with a "Storytone"
mahogany soundboard.
At the right is seen the Story & Clark
church piano. This piano has been made
to simulate an organ and will be
equipped with the Organo, thereby ren-
dering it an organ as well as a piano.

Frank Cohen Appointed Mgr.
Of Wanamaker Piano Dep'fs.
Announcement has been made of the
appointment of Frank Cohen as man-
ager of the John Wanamaker piano de-
partments in New York City, Philadel-
phia, Pa. and Wilmington Del. Mr.
Cohen assumed his new duties of Au-
ness and was with Frederick Loeser &
Co., Brooklyn, N. Y. for over twenty
years up to the time that company closed
its doors and liquidated the business
early this year. He entered the piano
department when the late Clarence
Hammond was manager and became so
successful at producing retail piano
sales that when Mr. Hammond passed
away Mr. Cohen was made manager of
the department.
He will make his headquarters at the
New York Wanamaker store.
