San Antonio Music Co. is Named as
"The Brand Name Retailer of the Year"

RAND Names Foundation, Inc.
held its annual dinner at the
Waldorf-Astoria in New York on
April 16th, at which more than 1500
leading executives in manufacturing,
tailers of the year honored at last year's
Brand Names Day.
Some of the presentations of the
above-mentioned music houses, upon
which the awards were made, are re-
produced herewith.

the year.
In the music field, the San Antonio
Music Co. of San Antonio, Texas was
named "The Brand Name Retailer of
the Year". During the ceremonies at the
Waldorf, a plaque was presented to
Ray E. Krlandson, President of the San
Antonio Music Co. by Charles Morgan
of the Morgan Piano Co., Miami. Fla.
who received the highest award last
year.
The other winners in the music sec-
tion in this 4th annual competition
were the Whittle Music Co., Dallas.
Tex. of which W. Howard Beasley is
the President, which was awarded the
second place Certificate of Distinction,
the Wilking Music Co., Indianapolis,
Ind., of which Frank 0 . Wilking is
President, was named for the third place
Certificate of Distinction; the Brown
Music Co. of Jackson, Miss., and Joseph
& Lucas, Portland, Ore. were also
awarded Certificates of Distinction. This
is the second time that the San Antonio
Music Co. has been honored, as it re-
ceived a Certificate of Distinction in
1950.
Selection of the winners was the re-
sult of two judging meetings held in
Chicago and New York City. The
