Eight Floors at Hotel New Yorker N. Y.

The 40th Annual Convention of the Na-
tional Association of Music Merchants
which -will be held at the Hotel New
Yorker. New York from July 29th to Aug-
ust 1st inclusive promises to be the great-
est success yet achieved since the good
old days. At the present writing there
are 134 exhibitors signed up who will oc-
cupy over 230 rooms. They are divided as
follows: Pianos and Organs 24; Supplies
6; Music Publishers 6; Musical Merchan-
dise 65; Radio Phonographs and Records
33. For the first time since the conventions
have been held at the Hotel New Yorker
exhibit rooms have been engaged on the
ninth floor. As near as possible the
branches of the industry have been seg-
regated; piano exhibits on the 3rd, 4th
and 5th floors, musical merchandise and
publishers on the 6th and 7th floors and
radios, phonographs and records on the
8th and 9th floors. Some of the exhibi-
tors will have displays on more than one
floor.

A large attendance is expected as there
will be vital questions to be discussed at
the meetings of the various associations.
Dealers throughout the country have been
thoroughly aroused on account of the tax
situation and believing that concerted ac-
tion will be necessary in order to keep
musical instruments on the essential list
they are planning to gather at this conven-
tion in larger numbers than ever before.

subjects which are of vital interest to
them.

SPECIAL CONVENTION TRAINS

that a Special Convention train is being
arranged for the benefit of dealers coming
from the far and middle west which will
leave Chicago on Saturday night July 26th.
He also states that special low convention
rates will be available from many cities,
and advises that dealers should check
with their local railroad agents about
these.
Arrangements have also been made for
special routing tickets for those who might
desire to take in various points of interest
either coming to or going home from the
convention. One of these includes 300
miles of ocean cruising along the Atlantic
Coast, 100 miles of motoring through Vir-
ginia including a visit to the Mariner's
Museum, Williamsburg, to the reconstruc-
ted Governor's Palace, Capitol and Ral-
eigh Tavern as well as to Jamestown and
Yorktown.
