The Ansley Radio Corp., New York, re-
cently introduced a new instrument to be
known as the Oxford Dynaphone.

the demonstration of the Musaphonic
there was a musical program by Mar-
guerite Volavy, pianist and Saul Blumen-
thal, violinist.
Among those present besides the offi-
cers of the two companies were many
persons prominent in society and in the
musical and scientific world, and several
artists of the Metropolitan Opera, includ-
ing: Lieut. Commander Don F. Smith, J.
R. Poppele. Miss Annamary Dickey,
Raoul Jobin, J. F. McEvery, Mr. and Mrs.

bands. The radio covers 540 to 1650 kilo-
cycles and 6 to 18 megacycles, with sur-
prising range and selectivity. The care-
fully engineered amplifier provides ex-
cellent tone-quality for the reproduction
of records. The Oxford is available for
either AC or AC-DC operation.
The Oxford is built of genuine maho-
gany with front panel of carefully match-
ed feathered crotch veneers. Legs are of
solid mahogany. Finish is hand rubbed. It
stands 28" high and is 17^4" wide and
16%" d ee P- Plays automatically either
ten 12-inch or twelve 10-inch records.

passes away at 74
one son, J. W. Dawson, Jr., who has been
managing the business and will continue
to do so. Mrs. Dawson states she will
cooperate in the management of the busi-
ness.
Displays Names on
New Truck
J. W. Dawson, founder and head of the
Dawson Music Co., Phoenix, Arizona,
passed away on April 9th at his home in

recovery when he contracted pneumonia,
which was the cause of his death. He was
born at East Liverpool, Ohio, and Mr.
Dawson celebrated his seventy fourth
birthday on February 19, of this year.
When he was seventeen years of age he
went to work for The Thompson Music
Co. of East Liverpool, Ohio. In 1910 he
and his brothers organized the Dawson
Piano Co. in Pittsburgh, Pa., and in 1913,
for reasons of health, went to Phoenix, Huston, head of the Huston-Baldwin Piano

The deceased is survived by two
brothers and two sisters, residents of Pitts-
burgh; by his widow, Gertrude A. Daw-
son, by two daughters one of which is
Mildred, the wife of Rev. R. E. Dicus (note:
spelling of this name is not clear in Mrs.
Dawson's letter) by a daughter Evelyn, a

student at Occidental College; also by
the instruments he handles, as well as that
of the company prominently displayed on
its sides. In the accompanying illustration
the new truck is shown in front of the
store at 714 North Broad-way.
President of Student Council
Patricia Ann Price, charming daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Price, has recently
been chosen President of the Student
Council at the National College of Edu-
cation, Evanston, 111. Morris Price is Re-
gional Director for Wurlitzer in the Cen-
tral District.
