1941 Victrola
Line Announced
in the "Deluxe" series, four instruments in
the "Anniversary" series (including two
with home recording), four consoles in the
"Master" series (including one with home
recording), and two table models. There
is also a new automatic record changing
Victrola attachment that converts any
radio into an automatic phonograph.
List prices (FOB Factory) range from
approximately $30 for the small table
model, to approximately $300 for the most
aton style, and built of the most expensive
stripe and feather crotch mahogany or
walnut veneers, with decorative overlays
of burl maple. The top lid is divided.

which cancels out virtually all the extrane-
ous noises of mechanical operation which
is present in all phonographs, are among
the more important improvements intro-
duced in the new instruments. Automatic
tone compensation and the "Tone Guard"
make it possible for the first time to repro-
duce records faithfully at low volume with-
out hearing objectionable noises or distor-
tion of the tonal range. A home recording
mechanism utilizing a special chassis is
incorporated in three of the models.
An outstanding instrument is a com-
pletely automatic RCA Victrola (record
changing mechanism and push-button
tuning) at a list price of $89.95, FOB
Camden, N. J.
The new instruments include three lux-
uriously-appointed console grand models

compartment in such a way that the lid
closes over it. The slots trap and cancel
out unwanted extraneous noises, guard-
ing the tone emitted by the loudspeaker.
The instruments also use new 12- and
15-inch loudspeakers which utilize a new
principle of cone suspension to provide
response over a wider audio range than
ever before. Oversized turntable motors
are also important contributors to higher
fidelity of reproduction.
In the "Anniversary" series, is Model
V-205 with Tone Guard. This 9-tube in-
strument has such features as 12-watts
push-pull output, three-point bass and
continuous treble tone control, and the
new supersensitive loudspeaker.
Also in the "Anniversary" series is
Model V-405, similar to the V-205 in its
radio and Victrola features, but housed in
a cabinet of authentic adaptation of Sher-

"In the "Master" Series the new low-
priced automatic console Victrola is Model
V-170—one of the greatest values in Vic-
trola history, according to Mr. Butler. Its
many features include gentle-action auto-
matic record changer, three-point bass
and treble tone control, loudspeaker and
tone compensation especially designed
for record reproduction, American and
foreign radio reception, separate built-in
antennas for domestic and short-wave
broadcasts, and many others. The simple,
modern design of the cabinet makes it in
good taste in any home surrounding. A
single lid encloses the Victrola mechanism
and radio controls. Another in this series
is Model V-200, somewhat similar in
features, but with a greater tone control.
Another "Master" instrument is Model
V-201, utilizing the same Victrola and
radio equipment as the V-200, but housed
in an upright cabinet.
