Silvio Hein, prominent composer and one of
the founders of the American Society of Com-
posers, Authors & Publishers, died at his home
at Saranac Lake, N. V./on December 19, at the
age of forly-nine years. Mr. Hein moved to
Saranac Lake for his health this Fall after a
serious breakdown in New York, but failed to
recuperate. He was best known on Broadway
as a composer and conductor, and his first work
in the musical comedy field was the score oi
"Nancy Brown," produced in 1903. Among the
musical plays with which he was identified we.e
"The Boys and Betty," "A Matinee Idol," "Flo-
Flo," "When Dreams Come True," "Look
Who's Here, " "The Liirl From Home ' and many
others. He also wrote the song, "All Dressed
Up and No Place to Go."
Mr. Hein served the American Society of
Composers, Authors & Publishers in the capac-
ity of director and assistant secretary for many
years, and was deeply interested in the Society's
work. He was an intimate of Victor Herbert
and was a member of half a dozen theatrical
and professional clubs. Funeral services, held
on Friday afternoon, December 21, in Camp-
bell's Funeral Church, New York, were attended
by a host of friends from the music and theatri-
cal world. The honorary pallbearers included
J. C. Rosenthal, Gene Buck, R. H. Burnside,
Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Jay Witmark, Ray-
mond Hubbell, George Maxwell, Max Dreyfuss,
John Golden, A. O. Brown and Fritz Williams.

Another step in the expansion of the music
publishing firm of De Sylva, Brown & Hender-
son, Inc., New York, was taken recently when
additional quarters at 145 West Forty-fifth
Ntreet were secured for certain departments of
the firm. The stockroom, formerly occupying
a portion of the sixth floor at 745 Seventh
avenue, has been moved to the Forty-fifth street
address, as well as the business department,
which occupies the front portion of the store.
The professional department and some of the
executive offices will remain at the Seventh
avenue address.
'HIGH UP ON
A HILL-TOP^
Joe Schuster and Johnny Tucker, known to
radio listeners as the Delivery Boys, have com-
pleted a lively season as co-writers for the
popular catalog of M. Witmark & Sons, New
York. Some of the catchiest tunes that have
been danced and sung during the past year have
been the product of their joint endeavor. Their
songs have of course been featured by many
large acts throughout the vaudeville and enter-
tainment field and they have also played a big
part in the Delivery Boys' radio programs.
Such active sellers as "Ho-Ho-Hogan," "In a
Little Love Nest," "Sleep Baby, Sleep" havr
been among the best known of their offerings.
Several new songs by this pair of writers have
just been issued, including "When 1 Sang Tenor
in that Old Quartette in My Home Town" and
a few others, which are showing up well in
preliminary try-outs.
Cannel Myers, well-known movie star, has
written a song called "Everything That's Nice
to Me," in collaboration with Archie Gottler.
The number is a lively fox-trot and has been
accepted on its merits alone by Mills Music,
Inc., New York, which firm reports a big pro-
Consult the Universal Want Directory of
fessional demand for it.

The New Buckeye 8111 Piano Track Is
designed for stair and general handling
of grand and upright pianos.
The centre wheel construction allows the
truck to balance and turn without the
usual lifting of the Truck and the scrap-
ing and marring of the floors.
No lifting is required to place the truck on the center wheels. Just push down the ball, or lifting
lever. Hardwood sills, well bolted together, forming a truaa, make the platform of the truck suffi-
ciently stiff and rigid to stand the heavy duty that these Trucks are subject to.
Also City Skid Trucks, eight styles of End Trucks, Piano Hoists, Covers, and Special Straps.
