Sherman, Clay & Co., has opened a new
branch store in Eureka, Cal., with temporary
quarters on Sixth street, under the management
of E. H. Howe, formerly of Santa Rosa. R. A.
Daniels, manager of the Santa Rosa branch,
completed arrangements for the new store.
Radio Dealers to Organize
YOUNGSTOWN, O., June 30.—Radio dealers of
Youngstown will meet July 9th to form an asso-
ciation. This announcemnt was made this week
following a meeting of a score of dealers.

Sale of Surplus Stock
"This is the only sale in 22 years in which
every piano in our entire stock has been in-
cluded."
June 30.—Last Sunday
morning's newspapers carried advertisements of
a half-million dollar piano sale by Kohler &
Chase. Announcements ran that these pianos
are to be sold for less than $290,000. "Having
taken over the entire stock of the two stores of
Lee S. Roberts, Inc., and the Mason and Hamlin
and Ampico stock of Wiley B. Allen Co., we
have a huge surplus stock which we do not
chose to carry over the Summer." Summer
sales terms offered by the company are- "Pay
no interest or finance charges," and prices in
many cases represent drastic cuts. At the store
it was stated that the public seems to appre-
ciate the opportunity to buy well-known pianos,
at the Summer sale price, and that business

The British piano trade which has found so
much worthy of emulation in the efforts of the
American trade to arouse public interest in the
piano, and in piano playing, has arranged as
part of its pianoforte publicity for a number
of national piano-playing contests in Great
Britain to be conducted in co-operation with
the London Daily Express. Although the de-
tails of the contests have not yet been com-
pleted, it is announced that they will be open
to British subjects only with British pianos as
prizes, and British compositions as test pieces.
