Plan Joint Meeting With Members of Local
Musical Merchandise Trade
BOSTON, MASS., February 21.—The bi-monthly
meeting of the Boston Music Publishers' Asso-
ciation was held a few days ago at the Boston
Art Club. William Arms Fisher of the Olivet
Ditson Co., and president of the Association,
being absent at St. Petersburg, Fla., where he
is recuperating after a recent illness, Charles
W. Hemeyer presided in his stead. David C.
King of the Ditson company was appointed a
committee of one to get in touch with the offi-
cers of the recently formed Round Table,
made up of members of the musical merchan-
dise trade, relative to the two organizations
getting together at the meeting of the pub-
lishers to be held on April 9.
General Manager W. L. Coghill of the John
Church Co., of Chicago, gave an informal talk
on the workings of the present copyright law,
gala fashion on Wednesday evening, February
15, at the Hofbrau. The purpose of the affair
was a general get-together on the part of all
members of the establishment to celebrate the
completion of the first year in business of this
successful musical publishing firm, which has
managed to produce real hits faster than one a
month. The latest song of the song-writer
proprietors, "Together," was sung and played
dozens of times during the course of the eve-
ning and served as the keynote of the party,
there being several placards on the tables bear-
ing the words, "We'll Always Be Together."

the status of composers and arrangers that will
have to be eventually settled by the highest
legal tribunal. Mr. Coghill's remarks developed
an interesting discussion anent this copyright
law. It was voted to have acting President
Homeyer name a nominating committee.
Elmer Setzler, of Philadelphia; Russell Mur-
phy, of Minneapolis; Dan Engel, of Detroit;
Joe Stool, of Chicago; Max Lerner, of San
Francisco; Ben Berman, of Los Angeles, and
Sidney Lachman, a utility traveler. Following
the dinner the doors were thrown open to the
many Broadway friends of the firm and a radio
program was broadcast through WHN, New
York, with N. T. G., the well-known announcer,
officiating as toastmaster. Among the dis-
tinguished guests were Mayor James Walker,
Paul Whitenian, Belle Baker, Lou Holtz, Ben
Rernie, Vincent Lopez, and George Olsen.
Werrenrath to Appear
Reinald Werrenrath, baritone, will appear as
guest artist at the seventh annual concert of
the Swift & Co. Male Chorus, at Orchestra Hall,
Tuesday evening, March 6.
