Actuelle Music Shop Makes Handsome
Window Display of the Century Edition
A N attractive window display, featuring the
Century Certified Edition of sheet music,
was used recently by the Actuelle Music Shop,
of Youngstown, O. Mr. Baumgart, of the
Actuelle store, who designed the window, com-
bined several of the standard Century window
display signs and posters supplied by the Cen-
tury Music Publishing Co., New York, with
certain ideas of his own to produce a wholly
effective display. With a novel background of
stretched white ribbons, Mr. Baumgart showed
several groups of individual Century numbers
in such a way as to focus the interest of the
passer-by to the music. A photograph of this
window received honorable mention in the re-
cent annual window display contest conducted
by the Century Music Publishing Co., which
had a large number of entries.
Victor and Robbins Corp.
Working on "Speedy Boy"
film. When the picture was generally ex-
hibited, dealers had their Victor records of
"Speedy Boy" in stock to meet the demand.
This is a precedent for motion picture theme
songs since "Diane," "Charmaine," and the
other notable picture songs were first recorded
on the discs after the motion picture's exhibi-
tion had popularized their respective theme
songs and created a demand for their record-
ings.
The accompanying photograph shows Ann
Christy, Harold Lloyd's leading lady in
"Speedy," pointing with pride at the title-page
of the song, "Speedy Boy." She is standing
beside an old-fashioned horse-car, utilized by
the producers in getting added publicity for
the picture in various Western cities.
