Editions Musicales Sam Fox Formed in
France as Fox Continental Distributors
American Publications of the Sam Fox Publishing Co. to Be Handled by New Firm
Sponsored and Directed by Couesnon et Cie., of Paris
HPHE Sam Fox Publishing Co., of New York
and Cleveland, O., which some time ago an-
nounced the formation of the Sam Fox Publica-
Paris Office of Couesnon et Cie.
Left—Philippe Pares. Right—Jean
Couesnon
tions, Ltd., as a separate publishing
organization for Great Britain, now
announces the organization of Edi-
tions Musicales Sam Fox, Paris.
This will be a separate and distinct
publishing firm sponsored by and
directed by Couesnon & Cie, one of
the oldest and most extensive mu-
sical instrument manufacturing or-
ganizations in France.
This new publishing firm, the Edi-
tions Musicales Sam Fox, Paris, has
acquired the distribution rights for
the following territory: France,
Belgium, Italy, Luxemburg, Monaco,
and through branch offices and
representatives will also cover
Kgypt, Syria and Turkey.
Sam Fox, head of the America*!
company, who has just returned
after a six months' tour of Europe,
in making the above announcement,
said: "I feel particularly gratified at
closing arrangements whereby such an impor-
tant house as Couesnon & Cie undertakes to
represent our firm. It is a company backed

by a tremendous organization, operating sev-
eral plants, and which heretofore did not handle
sheet music in any form. It is one of the big-
gest manufacturers in the world of reed instru-
ments, including clarinets, flutes and a very
wide line of brass goods. Its manufacturing
plants are located in Paris, Chateau-Thierry,
LaCouture-Boussey, Mirecourt, Mantes and
Garennes. Couesnon & Cie are exclusive
Columbia Phonograph distributors and handle
internationally known phonograph products of
all descriptions.
The Editions Musicales Sam Fox, Paris, will
be under the management of Jean Couesnon, a
young and energetic member of the Couesnon
firm. He is widely known all over Europe, is
in close touch with the foremost musical artists
and is thoroughly familiar with all mechanical
reproduction activities. Mr. Couesnon saw the
wonderful possibilities in the operation of a
Sam Fox Publishing Co. and looks forward to
a steady and consistent growth.
Herewith is shown one of the Couesnon
company's buildings, a portion of which will be
given over to quarters for the Sam Fox publica-
tion activities. This is a centrally located point
situated at 40 Boulevard Fauborg. In the insets
are shown at the left Jean Couesnon, and at the
right Philippe Pares, the latter practically giv-
ing his undivided attention to the management
of Editions Musicales Sam Fox, Paris.
The Sam Fox division will open a branch in
Brussels operated under the new firm name and
in some cities subagencies will be appointed,
particularly in Madrid, Milan and Zurich. Thus
the territory for which this new publishing firm
has acquired rights will be intensively culti-
vated. These subagencies will be selected from
the leading musical firms wherever available.
Under the arrangements just closed the Sam
Fox Publishing Co. is now energetically repre-
