Interest to the Dealers
The January, 1927, Ditson novelty list has
just been forwarded to the trade, together with
the January issue of "Selling Points for
Dealers." It is interesting to note that in the
announcement of the Oliver Ditson Co. its
novelties are placed in the hands of the trade
with a guarantee accompanying them which
allows full credit for the prompt return of
unsold copies during a three months' period.
Special attention is called to advance pub-
lication news to three new and important
groups of publications, "Five Poetic Sketches
for the Piano," by L. Leslie Loth; "In Meadows
Gay," comprising ten little pieces for the piano,
by Nicholas d'Averil, and "The Seven Last
Words of Christ," by Theodore Dubois. This
is in chorus parts only, arranged especially for
women's voices, by A. Stanley Osborn. This
latter group is particularly appropriate for at-
tention with the approach of Lent and Holy
Week.

The first numbers to be issued in this new
form are two new songs, "It's O. K. Katy
With Me," a novelty fox-trot, and "Swing Me
High, Swing Me Low," a waltz song. The
publishers intend to wage an intensive sales
campaign and publicity drive on these numbers
and, in considering the additional value through
the saxophone arrangements, look forward to
an unusual sales record.

M. Witmark & Sons, after a thorough con-
sideration of the great popularity of the
saxophone as a home musical instrument and
believing that the sale of popular music can
be aided greatly through the inclusion of a
specially written solo part for the C melody
and Eb alto saxophone, have decided to issue
such parts and include them in their popular
song copies. This part will be separate from
the piano arrangement, so that the saxophonist
may place it on his own stand when being
accompanied by a pianist.
