tinue to play this number at every opportunity,
of course, is an additional tribute to the merit
of the composition.

Special Drive Planned
on New Novelty "Magnolia"
The campaign inaugurated by the Broadway
Music Corp., on its song "Muddy Water," has
produced increased sales on this number in all
sections of the country. The advertising on
"Muddy Water" has been quite original in style
and, while it has intensively covered every chan-
nel of publicity, it has all been done in a con-
servative and consistent manner.
One of the features of the campaign on
"Muddy Water" was the fact that there were
little or no free orchestrations given out by the
publisher. All orchestrations were only given
out upon written request and this resulted in

• DeSylva, Brown & Henderson, Inc., has ar-
ranged for immediate release of a new novelty
song, in fox-trot time, called "Magnolia." The
writers are Bud DeSylva, Lew Brown and Ray
Henderson.
The sales and professional departments of the
firm have arranged an intensive exploitation and
sales drive which will shortly assume national
proportions. It is the plan of the company
to make "Magnolia" a Summer hit. In short
tryouts it has shown indications of becoming
unusually active, so no expense is to be spared
by the publishers in pushing its possibilities.
