The Music Trade Review
AUGUST 28, 1926
The Technical and Supply Department—(Continued from page 40)
Mr. Oetting is accompanied by his wife and
they will terminate their trip in Maine to spend
a week at one .of the quiet resorts there. Be-
fore leaving the city, Mr. Oetting stated that
he was particularly pleased with the present
condition of business and was confident of an
active Fall from the way orders are coming
in at present. W. M. Shailer, vice-president
and secretary of the company, who had re-
turned recently from a visit to the trade in
Boston, confirmed Mr. Oetting's optimism and

added that he never remembered when August
began any better than it has this year.
Supply Men Active
A canvass through the supply trade in and
around New York during the past week reveals
considerable optimism on all sides.
Action
manufacturers as well as pneumatic action fac-
tories are busy on September and October de-
liveries in liberal quantities. Hammer manu-
facturers are likewise getting many orders in
each morning's mail, and piano hardware men
are coming in for their share of business. Re-
ports of large orders coming in, unsolicited,
were given out in every branch of the supply
trade, which is the strongest indication that the
wheels of Fall industry have started to move.
Patent Office. The patent has been assigned
to Ludwig & Co., New York. The chief of the
claims offered for the patent is as follows: "In
a piano action, a balance rail, a key mounted
above the rail and provided with a guide slot
having a restricted lower end, a key pin car-
ried by the rail and projecting upwardly
through said slot, said pin being snugly received
in the restricted portion of said slot, and a
vertically adjustable fulcrum pin carried by said
key adjacent said key pin and slightly resting
upon said balance rail."
C. Murphy is manager of the new Co-opera-
tive Music Co., recently opened for business at
20 Main street, Little Rock, Ark. The company
will feature the Straube line of pianos and play-
