Kretschmer Finds Dealers
Favorable to New Discounts

Treasurer of Carl Fischer, Inc., Returns From
Lengthy "Missionary Tour"
William Kretschmer, manager of the music
publication division and treasurer of Carl
Fischer, Inc., recently returned from a cross-
country trade tour which practically covered
every large city in the country.
Mr. Kretschmer's mission was primarily for
the purpose of talking with the leading retailers
of the country and spreading the gospel of the
new prices and discounts. Naturally in the de-
cided changes that have been made in recent
years in discounts and net price markings there
were in many instances differences to iron out.
In addition to covering the changes in discounts
and new prices Mr. Kretschmer needed a change

ner there were, at times, deep-seated antagon-
isms due to misconceptions of the true situa-
tion.
All in all, however, Mr. Kretschmer's trip
was most successful and to use his own words
he "succeeded in arousing interest and support

part of October. He enjoyed immensely the
far West, including the Grand Canyon, the
Rockies, Yosemite Valley, Catalina Island and
the many other sites on the Pacific Coast.

WILMINGTON, N. C, December 20.—When inter-
viewed a few days ago by a reporter from the
Wilmington Star Miss Maie Sinclair, the new
manager of the Music Shop, seemed to be think-
ing, and when asked what she was doing she
laughingly responded that, as she was playing
"Thinking," she simply could not help from
thinking about how wonderful this new song
hit, "Thinking," was.
