Christmas Music in
the Century Edition
Numbers Included in Well-known Popular-
Priced Edition Featured in the December
Between Us
In the December issue of Between Us,
the house organ of the Century Music Pub-
lishing Co., a special feature is made of its
Christmas music. These numbers, given a
display at this time and called to the attention
of popular purchasers, should have substantial
sales. For the piano the December catalog
carries such Christmas offerings as "Dreaming
Sensational
Novelty Dance Hit
SIDEWALK
of Santa Claus," "Christmas Eve," "Chapel
Thoughts," "Stilly Night, Holy Night," "Under
the Christmas Tree," "Chiming Bells," "Adestc
Fidelis," "Ave Maria" and other numbers of
like caliber.
There is also a goodly number of Century
compositions for violin and piano and numer-
ous vocal numbers that are particularly appro-
priate during the holidays. The vocal offerings
include "Angel Voices Ever Near," "Ave
Maria," "Christmas Anthem," "Stilly Night,
Holy Night," "Star of Hope," "Star of Love"
and "Whispering Hope." For violin and piano
there are "Onward, Christian Soldiers," "Christ-
mas Eve," "Santa Claus Parade," "Under the
Mistletoe," "Star of Hope" and "Chapel
Thoughts."
In the same issue the Century Co. announces
the closing date for its annual window-display
contest as December 31. Altogether there
are three sets of prizes with a wide range of
selection for the contestants. There are no
special qualifications for entry, with the excep*
tion of display of Century material, which can
be obtained gratis, and the usual post office
regulations are complied with in each feature
of the contest.

The Richmond Music Supply Corp. has, in
addition to its monthly bulletin for December,
forwarded to the trade an eight-page pamphlet
carrying a compilation of particularly appro-
priate music publications for the holiday period.
Over ninety Christmas songs are included, a
number of Christmas duets, a series of Christ-
mas children's songs, special Christmas songs
with accompaniment of piano and other instru-
ments, piano solos for recreation, organ pieces,
etc. There are also a list of Christmas books
that make ideal gifts and a number of
folios, including "Cathedral Chimes," "Mission
Chimes" and "Christinas Tide." The contents
of the latter include "Christmas Carols and
Hymns," "Instrumental Numbers" and "Christ-
mas Songs for the Little Folks" and similar
appropriate material.
"When Twilight Gomes"
Published by Pallma
In these columns last week we ran a very
effective window showing made by the San
Francisco store of Sherman, Clay & Co. of the
song "When Twilight Comes," a new publica-
tion of Pallma Music Publishers, Inc., the enter-
prising Chicago house. In our story we
credited Sherman, Clay & Co. as the publishers
of the number. Sherman, Clay & Co., by the
way, are not only publishers of popular songs,
but they have a number of high-class ballads
in their catalog and many books and folios of
importance.
Piantadosi Re-enters Field
Al Piantadosi, who has been writing songs
for over a decade, recently re-entered the pub-
lishing business, forming the firm of Al Pian-
tadosi with offices at 1576 Broadway, New
York City. The first numbers of the new firm
are "Tired Hands" and "I May Learn to For-
get Some Day" (And You May Learn to Care).
Both numbers in early tryouts have shown up
to good advantage.
