Out Handsome New Edition—King Line Is
Featured
TORONTO, CAN., October 20.—A two-hundred-
and-twenty-page catalog featuring all manner
and kind of musical merchandise has been is-
sued to-day by Whaley, Royce & Co., Ltd.,
Canada's leading wholesale musical merchandise
house. Catalog No. 25, as it is known, is one
of the most interesting as well as one of the
most complete musical merchandise documents
ever produced in the Dominion.
The catalog leads off with King band instru-
ments made by the H. N. White Co., Cleveland,
O., for which the Whaley, Royce concern has
the Canadian agency. The first thirty pages of
the book are devoted to the display of King
instruments, including four handsome plates in
four colors of King saxophones, King trumpets,
King trombones and King basses.
One interesting feature of the catalog is a
unique system for letting the reader know at a
glance the prevailing discounts on the merchan-
dise. Retail prices are given through the cata-
log so the dealer can use it as a sales medium
with the customer, but the pages are printed on
different colored paper to correspond with the
rate of discount prevailing on the merchandise
shown on a particular page.
Another line of merchandise that is given
considerable space is the Hawkes & Son, Lon-
don, line of band instruments and woodwind
instruments. There is a page in colors showing
Hawkes & Son military drums. Imperial band
instruments are also featured. Violins are also
shown in colors in a most complete assortment.
Other lines featured are Leedy drums and
drummers' supplies, Grover accessories, Hawai-
ian and Spanish guitars, mandolins, ukuleles,
Vega banjos, Gretsch banjos, Slingerland ban-
jos, Bell Brand and Black Diamond strings,
Hohner harmonicas, and accordions, and all
kinds of accessories.
The foreword to the catalog reads as follows:
"In presenting this catalog for your inspection
we do so with the conviction that it is the most
complete list of musical instruments ever issued.
No expense or effort has been spared to get
together from all parts of the world a collection
of musical merchandise second to none. Every
instrument has been selected with an accurate
knowledge of the musician's needs and although
priced on a strictly competitive basis quality
has in every case been the first consideration.

Felsberg reports that the demand for tenor-
banjo cases has taken on an increased impetus,
indicating that the vogue for this instrument is
by no means on the wane. The factory has a
host of orders on hand for tenor-banjo cases.
