The author and composer are Lorenz Hart
and Richard Rodgers, who are not unknown in
professional circles. Their offerings in this in-
stance, however, seem to far surpass anything
ever written by them before and the acceptance
and production of their work by the Theatre
Guild should bring many offers for their future
writings.

As golf players a recent gathering of dealers

of visiting dealers and local publishers staged
a golf tournament at the close of the conven r
tion sessions held in New York recently. At
least it was a tournament, but whether it could
be accurately termed golf is open to dispute.
It was set in the proper atmosphere, however,
as Mr. Bitner took his guests to the Siwanoy
Country Club, Mt. Vernon, N. Y. It is also
known, as can be seen from the accompanying
illustration, that the guests were dressed for the
occasion in golf togs and had the implements
that are generally used by real players.
These "eagles" and "birdies" of the music
publishing industry are herewith shown, but
none of them, however, made any eagles or
birdies in this particular tournament. In fact,

Florida Booster Song
"Come On Down to Florida" Is Sung by
Lions' Quartet at Detroit Convention of Real-
tors
J. Will Callahan, who spends his Winters in
New Smyrna, Fla., and his Summers in Bay
View, Mich., has just written a special Florida
song to be sung by the Lions' Quartet, which
is being sent from Orlando, Fla., to the Na-
tional Convention of Realtors, which met in
Detroit June 23 to 26 inclusive, and the Na-
tional Convention of Lions, held in Cedar Point,
Ohio, June 29 to July 2, inclusive.
The song is entitled "Come On Down to Flor-
ida, You're Welcome," with the subtitle
"Where It's June-time the Whole Yeai
Through," and is to be sung to the tune of
"Smiles," of which Mr. Callahan was the au-
thor. In addition to the Florida song, the quar-
tet will sing two other numbers of Mr. Calla-
han's, written in collaboration with Frank H.
Grey. They are "Just Count the Stars" and
"Give Me One Rose to Remember."

New Feist Number
"I Miss My Swiss"
Song by L. Wolfe Gilbert Scores Big Success
in Paris—Plans for Big Campaign on Number
Here
I.. Wolfe Gilbert, who wrote the American
version of "O Katharina," has together with
Abel Baer written a new song called "I Miss
My Swiss" (My Swiss Miss Misses Me.) The
number, while new, is already hailed as the legit-
imate successor to "O Katharina" and for some
very good reasons. Just before Balieff sailed for
Paris with the latest edition of "Chauve Souris"
the professional department of Leo Feist, Inc.,
the publishers of this new song, had the op-
portunity of teaching him the number. Upon
his arrival in Paris and after the opening there
of "Chauve Souris," he cabled to Feist as fol-
lows: "Success—'My Swiss" surpassed all ex-
pectations—encored three times—sending pic-
tures of set." Later he forwarded a letter to
the Feist Co. in which he stated that the song
was taking numerous encores at every per-
formance and that the Paris edition of the
New York Herald extended itself upon com-
menting on the number.
The introduction of this number is unusual.
An American first introduced it in Paris. Plans
for a tremendous campaign on this new offer-
ing, which has all the advantages of what are
considered sure-fire numbers, are already under
way and it is hoped that Leo Feist, Inc., will
give it to the trade and public early in July
so that it will be able to lure thousands of
customers into music stores during the Sum-
mer season.

tures of the Shrine bands at the recent National
Shrine Convention held in Los Angeles, is one
of the leading sellers in all Pacific Coast music
