Ithaca, N. Y. A municipal band under the
direction of Joseph H. Stamp, 217 Wood avenue,
is being organized here.
Independence, la. Plans are under way for
the formation of a band in this city. John
Anderson, of Dubuque, is the organizer.-
Springfield, 111. Ray Thorwell has been ap-
pointed director of the local high school band
and will also organize a junior orchestra.
Dover, N. J. A new orchestra, known as
the Royal Syncopators, has been formed here
with William Youngleson leader.
Rarnesboro, Pa. The Barnesboro Italian
Band, with Frank Papotto as director, lias been
organized.
Albany, N. Y. The Aeolian Saxophone Band
has been organized here with Frank S. Brown
as director.
Buckhannon, W. Va. The Buckhannon City
Band has been organized with Ed. Quertiermont
as leader.
Goshen, Ind. R. A. Brinklow, city school
music supervisor, is organizing a junior sym-
phony orchestra.
Kirkwood, 111. Plans are under way for the
formation of a band in this city.
Platteville, Wis. The Platteville Lodge of the
B. P. O. E., No. 1460, is forming a brass band.
Magnolia, Ark. The Magnolia Boys' Band
has been organized under the direction of Her-
man Dobyns.
Portsmouth, O.. The New Boston Brass
Band has been reorganized with O. H. Sisler
as president.
Marion, Ind. The Marion High School is to
have a brass band of forty pieces, the school
investing not less than $1,000 in instruments.

Warrensburg, Mo. The New Beginners'
Band, directed by John Essig, leader of the
Warrensburg Band, is holding its first practice.
Elkins, W. Va. A new band of twenty-eight
pieces has been organized in this city.
Bradford, 111. A new band is being organized
here under the direction of M. Albrecht.
Waggoner, 111. The Waggoner Troop of Boy
Scouts has organized a drum and bugle corps.
Grand Mound, la. A new orchestra, known
as Hop and His Blue Boys, has been organized
under the direction of Joe Hart and William
Cooper.
Bay City, Mich. The Metropolitan Club, con-
sisting of municipal employes, is organizing a
band under the direction of James Noonan.
DePere, Wis. A juvenile band is being or-
ganized in this city under the direction of E. J.
Joseph, of the Frank Holton Co.
Stetsonville, Wis. A new band is being or-
ganized here under the direction of N. G. Tabor.
Port Washington, N. Y. Under the direction
of Arthur W. Jones, conductor, a new band is
being organized in this town.
Conneaut, O. Members of the Nickel Plate
Mechanical Association have formed a band
under the direction of Alfred Salmi.
Freeland, Pa. The Paramount Eight, a new
orchestra, has been organized here.
Wernersville, Pa. Local firemen have just
organized a band.
Portsmouth, O. The West End Band, J. A.
Tomlinson, director, has been organized here.
Columbus, Ind. The local Lodge of the Mod-
ern Woodmen is organizing an orchestra.
Braddock, Pa. The Lincoln Chapter, Order
of DeMolay, has organized a band under the
direction of Charles B. Shaler.
Uniontown, Pa. A new orchestra has been
formed here under the direction of August Gon-
zales.
Cresson, Pa. Harry Young has organized a
band here.
