Stadlmair Returns from
Extended Western Trip
Covers Entire Small Goods Trade West of the
Rockies and Finds the Dealers in a Buying
Mood—Many New Entrants in Field
Harry Stadlmair, Western representative of
the Henry Stadlmair Co., Inc., wholesaler of
musical merchandise, 119 East Twenty-third
street, New York, returned this week to the
New York office after a long Western trip on
which he claims to have visited most of the
small goods dealers west of the Rockies.
"Harry," as he is familiarly known to hundreds
of dealers, left New York immediately after the
convention in June and has been traveling
steadily since.
He reports that this has been his most suc-
cessful trip and that most dealers are now in
the mood for buying in anticipation of Winter
needs. He also noted that many of the Western
dealers who had previously confined themselves
to the retailing of pianos and talking machines
are now entering the small goods field with
substantial musical merchandise departments.
banjo-ukuleles featured by the Stadlmair house.
The concert was well advertised with Hughes
billed as the "Wizard of the Ukulele" and he
played to a large audience that remained to
purchase a large number of instruments. It is
interesting to note that most of the sales were
in the better-grade instruments.
