A NOVEL ELYRIA, 0.. WINDOW
A NEW BERUN COMEDY SONG
BLOEDON AGAIN WITH BROADWAY
Day's Store Featuring "Cut Yourself a Piece of
Cake" From the Feist Catalog
"Nobody Can Love Me Like My Old Tomato
Can" to Be Exploited Widely by Publishers
Joins Broadway Pub. Corp. as Head of Mechan
ical Reproduction Department
The success of lhe Leo Feist, Inc., new song
"Cut Yourself a Piece of Cake and Make Your
self at Horne," together with the unusually at
tractive advertising material issued by the COlll-
A. new comeely song· has been accepted for
jlublication by Irving Berlin, Inc. yYhile it is
the newest addition to this catalog the sales and
professional departments have already decided
to exploit it widely. The number is entitled
"N obody Can Love Me Like yIy Old Tomato
Can," and is from the pens of Billy Baskette,
who has written a number of popular successes
in the past, and William Downs. Several vaude
ville singers have introduced the song and the
early indications seem to point to wide popu
larity. This, together with the fact that the
Berlin organization is showing unusual interest
as to its future, should assure an unusual sale.
Edward Bloedon has aQain joined the staff
of the Broadway lvlusic Corp., 723 Seventh ave
nue, N ew York City, in the capaci ty of the
manager of the mechanical reproduction depart
ment. Mr. Bloedon has long experience in this
division of the music publishing business, hav
ing been connected with some of the leading
publishing houses in such work. In addition,
Mr. Bloedon is well kn01Nn to many profes
sionals and has other qualifications that make
him a valuable addition to the Broadway staff.

Display of Day's Music Store
)lany for its exploitation, has induced numerous
dealers to give the song window showings.
Outside of dressing the winelow· with title
pages no song in recenL months has lent itself
to the use of additional material on such small
appropriations. A case in point is herewith
shown of Day's Music Store, 367 Broad street,
Elyria, 0., in the window of which can be seen
a table on which has been placed a large cake
ready for service.
THE DEMAND IN PORTLAND, ORE.
PORTLAND, ORE., A ugust l1.- Stanlcy Baylis,
manager of the sheet music department of the
McDougall-Conn Music Co., says that the de
mand continues for "Barney Google" and
"Dreamy Melody," Remick numbers; "Mar
cheta" (John Franklin) and "Yes, vVe Have No
Bananas" (Shapiro-Bernstein). The vacation
ers have made a good demand for the little
ukulele and, consequently, ukulele music has
had a good sale. The volume of sales has been
great of Vol. 1 and 2 of Comic Songs and Solos
for the Lkulele, by Erwin ]. Rung, and pub
lished by D. L. Scroder, of New York.
NEW CHARLES K. HARRIS SONGS
Charles K. Harris announces three new songs,

Now," called "If I Were in Love With Some
body Else" (I Wouldn't Be Here \;Vith YOlT)
and a fox-trot ballad from the pen of Mr. Har
ris, entitled "I've Always Been True Blue to
You" (So V\'hy Can't You Be True to Me?).

City and as far west as Topeka, Kan., and to

BUFFALO, N . Y., July 28.- YV. S. Scott, vice
