Carl Fischer has forwarded to the trade its
new publications for August and September.
Among the new issues the following are pointed
out as deserving of particular attention: Ed.
Poldini, "Au Chateau De Cartes," three pieces
for piano. Poldini is the composer of the
famous "Poupee Valsante," and these new num-
bers have excellent possibilities as teaching
pieces. "The Modern Scandinavian Music," for
piano in the "Superior Edition," embraces ex-
cellent teaching and concert material. Selected
songs by Russian composers with Russian and
English text in the "Superior Edition." "Maia
Bang Violin Method, Part V," covers the study
of the sixth and seventh positions. It is pub-
lished in English and Spanish.
The second edition of part I of the "Jonas
Master School of Modern Piano Playing and
Virtuosity" is now on the press, the first edition
having been exhausted during the first six
months of its release.

PUBLISHERS FEATURE "SPIRITUALS"
CHICAGO, III., November 13.—The Corinthian
Music Co., a new organization, is about to open
offices on Jackson boulevard and announces that
its first numbers will be a set of fourteen negro
"spirituals," composed by Hermes Zimmerman,
a colored student of Northwestern University.
One of these spirituals, "The Chief Corner
Stone," was praised by Professor Osbourne
McConathy, of the music department of North-
western University. Another recently finished
composition in the same form is "Life Is Joy."

Large Initial Shipment of Fox Issues for Aus-

Fred Fisher, Inc., seemingly has one of the
best novelty songs of the present season in the
number "Chicago." This is a fox-trot which has
shown steady gain in favor and from present
indications is to be quite active for the balance
of the year. The professional -band and orches-
tra department and the various representatives
of the Fisher organization are all actively en-
gaged in featuring "Chicago" and giving it
prominence.

NEW AND POPULAR FOXTROT
"Just One More Dance," a fox-trot song pub-
lished by L. B. Curtis, music publisher, succes-
sor to Van Alstyne & Curtis, has shown indica-
tions of being one of the most active numbers
of the season. It was originally introduced by
Brooke Johns at "The Tent." Brooke Johns,
by the way, has been signed by the Keith in-
terests to appear at the Palace Theatre, New
York, following which it is understood that he
will tour vaudeville houses in some of the
larger cities.
