WOMAN COMPOSER_SEES END OF JAZZ
Carrie Jacobs-Bond Declares Present Musical
Trend Is Away From the Riff-raff
Carrie Jacobs-Bond, who recently departed for
Europe, spent several days at the Pennsylvania
Hotel, New York City. In speaking of the prev-
alent tastes for music and the outlook Miss Bond
said: "The old-fashioned waltz is coming back.
I think the present trend of music is decidedly
away from the riff-raff and toward more melo-
dious music of a really human sort. Jazz will
have to give way to melody."
