BOSTON, MASS., May 8.—A jazz burglary outfit
was taken into custody here recently when four
young men were arrested at a South End hotel,
with a complete set of burglary tools in their
possession, concealed in violin, mandolin and
music cases which they were carrying. The
quartet were held on the charge of possessing
burglar's tools and for investigation.
Inspector Benjamin Alexander noticed the
four men gazing in a jeweler's window on Tre-
mont street.
Examination of the music cases showed that
the burglar's tools were rolled in sheet music,
entitled "Stealing" and "Three O'Clock in the
Morning." The prisoners, who are being held
for New York police investigators, said that they
came here to look into the claims of a firm that
was in receivership.
Statements that several Boston girls were ac-
complices of the "jazz bandits" in thefts in down-
town stores are being probed, while the four men
who gave the names of Bernard Arndt, Morris
Russel, Daniel Kornblum and Harry Davis, are
all in jail, being held in bail totaling $100,000.
The national campaign inaugurated by the
S. G. Caine, Inc., has completed plans for a
A. J. Stasny Music Co. on the waltz song suc- big exploitation campaign on the fox-trot, "Isle
cess, "Rio Night,"
h a s resulted in
the number being
given window dis-
plays in all the
larger trade cen-
ters of the coun-
try, including Bal-
timore, Washing-
ton, Philadelphia,
Buffalo, Detroit,
Chicago and Min-
neapolis.
O f
particular
gratification to the
publishers is the
fact that a no
small percentage
of these displays
have appeared in
t h e windows of
the
legitimate
sheet music deal-
ers.
Of course,
many of the syn-
dicate stores have
made special
showings of "Rio
Nights," but the
response of the
regular dealer has
been unusual.
We h e r e w i t h
show a special
window setting in
the Fouratt store,
Trenton, N. J. In
the back of the
window can read-
ily be seen a drop
in which the title
stands out most
strikingly.
The
floor of the win-
dow is covered
with t h e t i t l e
pages of the song

and the ceiling is also decorated with the num- of Zorda." Arrangements have been made to
ber, the title pages, hanging their full length, have the number broadcasted from several radio
making an unusual setting, and one which re- stations.
sulted in excellent sales of the number.
"Isle of Zorda" is released in conjunction with
the
Pathe picture of the same title.
