JACK MILLS, INC., TO PUBLISH SCORE
FEIST SONG FOR NEW GOVERNOR
Jack Mills, Inc., will publish the score of a
new musical comedy now in preparation by Dan
Kussell, in which Eddie Buzzell, the well-known
vaudeville headliner, is to be starred.
Lord Byng Welcomed as Governor-General of
Canada With Strains of "Lord Byng, Canada
Welcomes You"—Some Live Feist Numbers

TORONTO, O N T , November 5.—The big advertis-
ing guns of Leo Feist, Ltd., Toronto branch,
have been trained on their new song, "Lord
Byng, Canada Welcomes You," written by Jules
Brazil, the popular Toronto entertainer. Quar-
ter-page ads appearing in many of the Canadian
daily papers over the name of the publishers,
and orchestral and band arrangements of the
song sent to the various orchestras and bands
throughout the Dominion, greatly helped to popu-
larize not only the song but the new Governor-
General himself. As Lord Byng stepped off the
ocean liner at Quebec he was greeted with the
strains of "Lord Byng, Canada Welcomes You."
As he proceeded across th« country, and par-
ticularly on the opening day at the Canadian Na-
tional Exhibition—Veterans' Day—he heard
many times the same song of welcome.
Speaking to The Review regarding present-day
Feist hits, Gordon Thomson, Canadian manager
ot Leo Feist, Ltd., Toronto, referred enthusias-
tically to the success which is attending "Peggy
O'Neil," "Nestle in Your Daddy's Arms,"
"Cherie" and "Mon Homme." "We are finding
it difficult to keep 'Peggy O'Neil' in stock," he
said. "Ever since we let it loose on the market
there has been a continuous clamoring for this
waltz success."

According to reports, Tom Peyton, formerly
Eastern professional manager for Forster, Music
Publisher, Inc., will shortly enter the ranks of
the music publishers.

FEATURE SONG ON FILM
PORTLAND, ORE., November 4.—Featuring "Why,
Dear?'" Henri A. Keates, organist of the Liberty
Theatre, with the co-operation of Clyde Free-
man, manager of the Remick Song Shop, is play-
ing the composition preceding each showing of
the photoplay "Cappy Ricks," with Thomas
Meighan as the star. The song is not featured
by the usual method of a slide, but by a special
reel of motion pictures. He plays the selection
and the words are found in the motion picture.
At one place in this novel reel the words are
shown at the bottom of a bubbling mountain
brook with the water flowing over them.

"FRANKIE" SUNG BY KAUFMANS
"Frankie," published by Jack Snyder, Inc., is-
now being featured by Irving and Jack Kauf-
man, who are booked to appear for a long period
on the Keith circuit. The Kaufman boys are
well-known record artists.
"Frankie," in jthe instrumental form, is one of
the biggest fox-trot successes of the present sea-
son.

this city under the trade name of the Lone Star
Music Publishing Co. The first numbers an-
nounced are: "You'll Love, Dear, Some Day"
and "There's a Cabin in the Hills of Old Ken-
tucky." Both songs are by Salvatore Sapetto.
NEW HAVEN, CONN., November 7.—A new popular
SAM FOX ON WESTERN TRIP
Sam Fox, of the Sam Fox Publishing Co.,
Cleveland, O., is making a flying sales trip cov-
ering the larger cities throughout the Middle
West, following which he will cover the Pacific
Coast. A recent letter from Mr. Fox states he is
finding business good and the Fall catalog of
the company is meeting a good reception.
MISS ABRAMS WITH NORTON CO.
Rose Abrams, who for a number of years was
connected with the New York professional de-
partment of the McKinley Music Co., and later
with the Harrison Music Co., has been added to
the staff of the Robert Norton Co. Miss Abrams
is an accomplished pianist and is well known in
vaudeville circles, having a host of friends.
