Among the Season's Successes
OTTAWA, OXT., January 24.—Figures issued by
the Department of Trade and Commerce, Ot-
tawa, showing the imports of sheet music and
music books into Canada are as follows:
"Love in Lilac Time," published by the
Edward B. Marks Music Co., has, according to
recent reports from the various jobbers, at-
tained a degree of popularity which bids fair
to place it among the big waltzes of the past
several years. One of the largest jobbers in the
country, the Crown Music Co. of New York.
.is disposing of over one thousand copies of
this number a day. Mitch Marks, who is in
charge of the trade and jobbing accounts for
the Edward B. Marks Music Co., looks for-
ward to a large increase in orders.

"LOVELESS LOVE" DOING WELL
Latest Number by W. C. Handy Has Been
Recorded on Rolls and Records
"Loveless Love," the blues novelty song by
W. C. Handy, has already been recorded by
many of the talking machine record and player
roll companies. In addition, it is being placed
in the hands of some of the headliners in
vaudeville.
This song is one of the best numbers that
Handy has ever written and when it is con-
sidered that he is the author of "Memphis
Blues," "Beale Street Blues," "Yellow Dog
Blues" and other successful works it speaks
well for the merits of this new release.
"Loveless Love" is original in many ways.
As to the lyric, it is in a satirical comedy vein
and the melody is attractive. It appears to be
a substantial addition to the catalog of the Pace
& Handy Music Co.
