Century Music Pub. Co.
235 West 40th St.
New York
The E. T. Paull Music Co. has just announced
the release of a new fox-trot song, entitled "Be-
neath the Spanish Moon," the words of which
are by Ida Simpson and the music by Leo
Bennett.
E. T. Paull, head of the above publishing
house, in a statement regarding the release of
this number, said: "This looks like one of the
most promising of the really popular things we
have used in some seasons. The melody is
original and can be described as a novelty type.
The lyrics are of a very high standard and as
a combination we look forward to the number
receiving favorable support in vaudeville circles
and proving a feature number with orchestras,
particularly those of the dance type."
The E. T. Paull Music Co. made the following
announcement in regard to the change of prices
in its catalog:
"On and after April 15 all of our standard
instrumental publications will be issued as thirty
and thirty-five-cent numbers, which will include
all of E. T. Paull's famous march compositions
and arrangements. Special initial prices will be
allowed dealers at this time."

lishers.

Miss Kate Roskopp, of Mt. Clemens, Mich.,
publisher of "Catalina," a fox-trot, states the
reception that the number has received in or-
chestra circles has been very gratifying. "Cata-

PLAZA CO. RECEIVER DISCHARGED
Van Alstyne & Curtis, the well-known music
publishers of Toledo, Ohio, with branches in
Chicago and New York, have a number, "Some
Little Bird," that is constantly increasing in pop-
ularity. As a dance selection it is quite popular
with orchestras, and it has been placed in the
program of a large number of vaudeville per-
formers.
"Some Little Bird" is of the highest standard,
both in lyric and melody. Musically it is accepted
everywhere as a number of much merit and from
all indications it will have a sale over a long pe-
riod. It is not the type of number whose popu-
larity will quickly wane.
Reports from the Pacific Coast and Middle
West state that it is fast taking a prominent po-
sition in popular music circles and in Eastern ter-
ritory it is also being well received.
Bankrupt Concern Makes Settlement With
Creditors and Resumes Business
The receiver for the Plaza Music Co. was
recently discharged and the company is prac-
tically operating on a normal basis. While the
music company made a composition settlement
with its creditors on a basis of 40 per cent of
its liabilities, 20 per cent in cash and 20 per
cent in notes, it is understood that if business
permits it will clear up its entire indebtedness.
E. C. Mills, chairman of the board of directors
of the Music Publishers' Protective Association,
is active on the new board of directors of the
Plaza Music Co.

CO-OPERATING ON "MON HOMME'
Thematic of New Gott & Henderson Number
"When 1 Dream That Auld Erin Is Free," is
fortunately endowed both as to lyric and musi-
cal setting. Leroy C. Henderson, of the firm,
has written the lyric and it is a very fair sam-
ple of the good work he is doing. He had pub-
lished a great deal of poetry before he became
a song writer and it was all of a decidedly high
grade. The musical setting is from the pen of
no less a composer than Leo Friedman, writer
of "Meet Me To-night in Dreamland" and other
songs which were big hits. The accompanying
thematic will give some idea of the character
of the first publication of the new firm.
Leo Feist, Inc., the publishers of the European
success "Mon Homme" (My Man), originally pub-
lished by Francis Salabert, of Paris, are receiving
excellent co-operation on this new song and dance
number from orchestras and in other channels.
The Feist organization is exploiting the number
on a large scale.
Under the caption "Paris Sends Jazz to Broad-
way," the New York Sun recently commented
upon "Mon Homme," as well as several other
French numbers. "Mon Homme," however, was
given the preference in the material in question.
ERNEST BALL'S NEWEST BALLAD
Ernest R. Ball is the writer of a new typical
"Ball" ballad, entitled "Little Crumbs of Hap-
piness (You Gave Me Long Ago)." It is al-
ready being placed in the programs of vaude-
ville headliners. M. Witmark & Sons are the
publishers.
TATALINA"
ON TRIP TO THE PACIFIC COAST
Billy Waldron was recently made Eastern
traveling representative for the Maurice Rich-
mond Music Co., Inc. Harry Engel, of the same
firm, is now on a trade trip in the Middle West
and contemplates shortly going to the Pacific'
Coast,
Jerome H. Remick & Co. are the publishers
of a new song, entitled "Just Keep a Thought
for Me." A big campaign to exploit this num-
ber is being inaugurated by the publishers.
