New Musical Comedy Produced at Times
Square Theatre a Real Summer Show
A new musical comedy entitled "The Right
Girl" and produced by the Gleerich Productions,
Inc., opened at the Times Square Theatre, New
York, on Tuesday evening of last week.
The book and lyrics are by Raymond W. Peck,
and Percy Wenrich composed the music. Caro-
lyn Thomson as Dora Darcy, playing the part
of "The Right Girl," and Dolly Connolly as
Molly Darcy, a cousin of the girl, head the cast,
ably assisted by Robert Woolsey, who plays
effectively a genuine comedy role, and Rapley
Holmes and Helen Montrose.
The local critics invariably describe it as a
Summer show and predict that it is to be with
u& for many months. The music comes in for
particular mention and there are at least three
of the songs that will have more than the
average popularity.
In describing the musical numbers one of the
New York papers says: "The opening chorus,
'Cocktail Hour,' is a delightful number and
brings back many memories of the days before
prohibition. Another excellent chorus number,
which ought to become popular in every club,
is called 'The Rockingham Chair Fleet.' Mr.
Benham has several good songs in 'Girls All
