is now being taken to protect American inter-
ests. In some cases the title page has been
imitated and in others no attempt to follow the
original copy has been made.
Of more importance is the discovery that
counterfeit copies of several big hits have been
issued in this country, particularly upon the Pa-
cific Coast. In these cases reproductions of
the original title pages have been made and fairly
good counterfeits of the editions have been
sold, and these in quantities. Among the big
successes that have been counterfeited in this
manner has been "Dardanella." It had large
sales in spurious form in San Francisco, Los
Angeles and other large centers.
Forster, Music Publisher, Inc., is featuring
four songs for the Fall season. They are "That
Naughty Waltz," which, despite its big success
of last season, is still proving popular; "Ask
the Rose," a new waltz ballad; "I Love You
Sunday," a fox-trot, and "Sweet and Low."
