SUCCESSFUL SONG WRITING TEAM
Dorothy Terriss and Ethel Bridges Have Col-
laborated on Several Popular Numbers
Among the song writers who are contributing
liberally to present-day popular catalogs are
Dorothy Terriss and Ethel Bridges, who have

that is some information that we haven't access
to. She is a woman of much personal charm
and her personality is magnetic, as are her
"Hawaiian Lullaby," "Just Like the Rose,"
"Ching-a-Ling's Jazz Bazaar" and "Beautiful
Hawaiian Love," all of which are popular.
Both of these writers have won success pre-
vious to their present team work, but the re-
sults that they have achieved as collaborators is
most gratifying to all who are interested in
their futures. From all indications they are to
assume a very prominent position in the popu-
BULLETINS ON BERLIN NUMBERS
Thomas Goggan & Bro. Feature Popular Prints
in a Progressive Manner
Thos. Goggan & Bro., well-known music deal-
ers of Houston and Galveston, Tex., give much
attention to the new popular and what are
termed 30-cent numbers. Recently they had
written a circular featuring all the late songs
published by Irving Berlin, Inc. This attractive
material was sent out to their entire mailing
list and resulted in giving the sales of the Ber-
lin publications an impetus that was felt for
several weeks. The numbers featured were
"When My Baby Smiles," "Was There Ever a
Pal Like You?" "I'll See You in C-U-B-A" and
"J'll Always Be Waiting for You." The title
pages of all of these numbers were reproduced,
as well as the thematic of the refrain. In addi-
tion, space was given to the Berlin numbers from
this year's "Ziegfeld's Follies," "A Pretty Girl
Is Like a Melody," "Mandy," "Harem Life,"
"Bevo," "A Syncopated Cocktail" and "You
Cannot Make Your Shimmie Shake on Tea."
The Goggan & Bro. plan might be adopted with
profit by other music dealers.
MUSIC IN PUBLIC MARKET

recently collaborated in the production of sev-
eral popular hits.
Miss Terriss hardly needs an introduction be-
cause several of her songs have been included
among the hit class during the past few seasons,
among them "Sing Me Love's Lullaby," "Bob-
bin' Up and Down," "When Uncle Joe Plays
a Rag on His Old Banjo," and "Whistling Jim."
She is a Brooklyn girl, which may or may not
go to prove that one may succeed despite
obstacles.
Miss Ethel Bridges is a girl from the Golden
West—born in San Francisco. Of course, we
don't intend to tell her age: as a matter of fact,

PUSHING THIRTY=CENT CATALOG
The A. J. Stasny Music Co. is at present giv-
ing much attention to its thirty cent catalog.
Some of the biggest campaigns during the com-
ing season will be on numbers of this class.
One of the new issues which is showing up well
is entitled "All That I Want Is in Ireland,"'
with words by Jeff Branen and music by Evans
Lloyd.
Music with your meals is the new feature in
the public market which has been established
in the old city fire house at Fourth and Morrison
streets, Portland, Ore. Lew Lewis, Portland
orchestra man, has established a musical depart-
ment in the market adjoining the Luncheonette.
Each noon restaurant customers click their jaws
in time to the latest jazz, ballads, etc. Mr. Lewis
has arranged to have a full orchestra on Satur-
day afternoons, which will include a saxophone
expert.
