This company's advance list, as it reached us

Below will be found the December list of Q
R S word rolls, hand-played. It will.be noticed
that the publishers have put in a nice Christmas
roll played by their star artist, Mme. Sturkow-
Ryder, as well as the ever-popular "Holy City,"
by Stephen Adams, and the equally popular
"Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." With these
tributes to the amenities of the season safely
out of the way, the list goes wild and cavorts
joyfully over the field of fox-trot, ballad, dance
tune and whatever else can contribute to the
joy of the occasion. It is a happy lot of stuff
full of good sellers. Here goes:

STANDARD MUSIC ROLL CO.
"Would You Rather Be a Colonel With an
Eagle on Your Shoulder, or a Private With a
Chicken on Your Knee?" This decidedly tech-
nical question, or a song with said question as
its title, dominates the very light-hearted list
published by Standard for December.
It is
typical.
By the way, the decidedly "campy"
tone of the titles is something that should be
cherished, for the time is coming when we shall
have no more of it. Here's the lot. Take your
choice:

UNIVERSALMUSIC CO.
The Universal's December bulletin may be
classified somewhat as follows: One large lot
of noisy, excessively light-hearted song rolls,
one nice bunch of Allied national songs, three
pretty little light-classic hand-played and one
lone, but very much evident straight cut, to-wit,
an "Allied Victory March." You simply can't
get away from this Allied victory stuff, i t will
not down. Let 'er go, Bill!

W1LCOX &_WHITE CO.
Quite a large and healthy-looking selection of
song rolls, hand-played, are featured in the An-
gelus list for December. Most of them are for
joyful young persons of both sexes, who have few
cares and, now that the draft is slacking up, few-
er worries. But, while giving the noisy stuff due
credit, let us not forget the lovely "Songs My
Mother Taught Me," by the great musician of
the Tzecho-Slovak nation, Antonin Dvorak.
Then there is one of Amy Woodforde-Finden's
East Indian love lyrics and others as nice. Na-
tional hymns of our Allies are also included (six
of them). The complete list is as follows:
