Regarding the Song
"There'll Be a Hot Time for the Old Men
While the Young Men Are Away"
Although the Department of Justice has ruled that the sale of the song would not be interfered with, we have volun-
tarily withdrawn it, in view of the fact that some of our friends have different viewpoints as to the wisdom of singing the
song at this particular time, because of the moral effect it is likely to have on "Our Boys."
A few of the people have gone so far as to suggest that the song is unpatriotic. Therefore, even though you person-
ally may not agree with this viewpoint, we will appreciate your complying with our suggestion not to sell any more copies
of the song, and return to us for credit any copies you may have on hand.

Leo Feist, Inc., have arranged to carry an-

song successes published by that house. This ad-
vertisement will be a part of the big Feist ad-

chase direct from the local dealer, and if he does
not carry the desired numbers they are listed

The company, therefore, does not undersell the
dealer, but gives him a slight price advantage,
and an opportunity of getting 15 cents per copy
for the popular numbers.
Not only do the firm carry on- a national
advertising campaign in behalf of their songs,
but they also see to it through their various
branch offices, located in the larger centers of
the country, that their songs are -sung in vaude-
ville and played in the moving picture houses,
cabarets, and by the dance orchestras in almost
every city. This is done by the traveling rep-
resentatives of the firm working from the cities.
In an announcement to appear in an early is-
sue of the Saturday Evening Post, which is re-
produced on another page of this paper, the
House of Feist will feature three of their new
songs, all of which have already been given pub-
lic approval. The numbers are entitled "I'm
Sorry I Made You Cry," "Belgian Rose" and
"Just Like Washington Crossed the Delaware,
General Pershing Will Cross the Rhine." The
advertisement will also include mention of all
the active numbers in the Feist catalog.
NEW CHAPPELL SLOGAN
Chappell & Co. have adopted a very appro-
priate slogan, which is used on their letter-
heads and in most of their advertising matter.
It is the well-known English soldiers' battle-
cry "Carry-On." One of the features of the
use of the above is that it does not stare one
in the face, but while placed in a conspicuous
place it is in fine type, and' is more in the way
of a casual message to the reader.
