MUSIC OF THE MONTH—(Continued from page 13)
certo, the same which was played a few weeks
ago with the Damrosch Orchestra filling- in the
accompaniment. A lively Gallop by Emil Sauer,
two Liszt numbers interpreted by Beryl Rubin-
stein, and a Themodist-Metrostyle roll of Cyril
Scott's Lotus Land are other feature numbers.
The song rolls are many and varied. A general
selection is all that can be given within our space
limits:

The high-grade Rythmodiks for January arc
headed by Ethel Leginska's interpretation of
the famous "Arabesque" of Strauss' Blue
Danube Waltz; a composition extremely bril-
liant, but not otherwise very musical.
Ecker
gives us readings of the beautiful slow study in
E of Chopin (No. 3 of the first book), and of
the beautiful "Melodie," from
Paderewski's
"Traveler's Songs."
The song roll list is big
in numbers and wide in variety, containing
specimens of all, or nearly all, "the latest." W e
give a good general selection below, showing
something of every kind:

IMPERIAL PLAYER ROLL CO.
The January list of Imperial stuff is as strik-
ing as usual. >> We notice interpretations by
Paul van Katwyk, and McNair Ilgenfritz as
well as the well-known monthly cyclone from
Randale, Kahn and Straight. The wild, wild
women show their atridic (Tom Kavanaugh
knows what that means) leads here as else-
where, and Charley Straight plays melodious
Nifty Nonsense in fox-trot style. And much
more to the same effect, as shown below:
"SONGRECORDS"
Q R S CO.
The January bulletin is big and impressive.
Mme. Sturkow-Ryder brings out two new pieces,
and Harold Triggs, a recent accession to the
ranks, comes out with two Liszt Etudes
(Campanella and Gnomen-Reigen) as well as a
number by Saint-Saens. The word rolls fea-
ture the playing of Lee S. Roberts and Pete
Wendling, with the w^ll-known four-hand pair,
Baxter and Kortlander. Their numbers range
through the whole list of present hits and in
such variety that we can give only a partial list
herewith:
