GOOD DEMAND FOR PATERSON CASES
Efficient Methods and Equipment Has Aided
Paterson Piano Case Co. in Supplying Manu-
facturers With Quality Cases in Short Time—
Careful Preparation of Veneers a Feature
The Paterson Piano Case Co., whose exten-
sive factory is located at Paterson, N. J., has
with piano cases. The factory organization has
been developed along the same lines of efficiency
as the equipment in the plant, which is second
to none in this branch of the piano industry.
Those who are at the head of the company
have devoted their entire time to the direct-
ing of the manufacture of these cases, and have
made it a point to adhere to a high standard of
quality in material, workmanship and finish.

SHIPMENT OF MJSTRALIAN WOOL
First Part of Consignment From the Antipodes
Will Arrive This Week
Frank B. Windeler, the representative of the
British Government at the coming wool auc-
tions in Boston, announces that the first arrival
of about 4,760 bales, as part of the 45,000 bales
of Australian wool to be shipped here from
Australia and to be sold by auction, is due to
reach Vancouver about November 10. The
remainder will leave Australia during the next
few days coming via the Panama Canal and
should reach this market in about six weeks'
time. The wools on arrival will be distributed
among such wool houses as can provide stor-
age and will be exhibited in their own ware-
houses at the time of sale.
The wools coming forward comprise an at-
tractive collection of good combing and cloth-
ing wool in the grease, all free from fault.
In the selection will also be 12,000 bales of
greasy Iambs and 2,500 bales of scoured free
locks.
EQOLESTON ON_WESTERN TRIP
General Manager of Standard Felt Co. Visiting
California Factory
Geo. M. Eggleston, general manager of the
Standard Felt Co., is now on a trip to the Pacific
Coast. Mr. Eggleston plans to spend a few
weeks at the factories of the Standard Felt
Co., at West Alhambra, Cal., after which he ex-
pects to refurn to his headquarters at 404 South
Fifth avenue, Chicago. David Smith, manager
of the Eastern territory of the company, reports
good business and a steadily increasing cost of
raw materials.

ful production of a high-grade product. The
materials which are incorporated in the con-
struction of Paterson cases are all selected stock,
the company maintaining large dry kilns so that
they may have under their own supervision the
proper seasoning of the lumber.
One of the most important features of a good
case is the veneer. This has been made a par-
ticular specialty of this company. The veneers
are not only carefully selected,
but they are carefully prepared
and use^d in the construction of
the cases. The devices for
cutting, trimming and gluing
these veneers, tl at are in use
in the factory, have all been
perfected by the executives of
the organization, who have
learned the best method by an
experience of over twenty-
live years of piano case manu-
facturing.
In the accompanying illus-
trations the cutting and gluing
of these veneers are shown.
Close scrutiny of the illustra-
tion will easily convey the ade-
quate equipment which will be
found throughout the plant. The plant of the
Paterson Piano Case Co. is very busy at the
present time and the orders in hand for cases
for later delivery indicate much activity during
the coming winter season.
