McKINLEY BALLAD MEETING WITH UNUSUAL SUCCESS
CHICAGO, I I I . , February 4.—E. P. Little, the
genial manager of Sherman, Clay & Co.'s music
department, is in Chicago on a cross country
od" is said to be by far the best selling in-
structor for that popular instrument.

Under the title "Edizione Classica," Al Pian-
tadosi & Co., Inc., will shortly release their
new high-class catalog. Five numbers arc al-
ready announced, being the works of some of
the best composers of standard music with
popular appeal.
The first release includes "Tell the Last Rose
of Summer, Good-bye," "When You Have For-
gotten and 1 Can't Forget," "Twilight and
Dawn," "Drifting Hearts," "You're the Gift
Heaven Gave to Me," "My Cross" and "Though
Years Have Silvered Your Hair, Mary." The
latter two numbers are the work of Arthur
Augyalfi, and "When You Have Forgotten and
I Can't Forget" is from the pen of Earl Car-
roll. Al Piantadosi, in speaking of their cata-
log of better grade music, said: "These num-
bers are going to be produced with artistic title
pages, on pebbled paper and in several colors,
and will at once be a token of the fine work they
contain. An example of the high standard we
have set for these editions is shown by 'Poor
Little Hi-Yo-San,' a Japanese light opera song,
which in all probability will shortly be placed
in a production."
FEATURING TWO FEIST NUMBERS
"Honolulu, America Loves You" and "When the
Roses Bloom in Loveland" Being Advertised
in Big Way—Special Offer to Dealers
Leo Feist, Inc., who are carrying a publicity
campaign in the Saturday Evening Post featur-
ing two songs each month, are sending out
circulars to the dealers announcing the songs,
which will be featured in the issue of Feb-
ruary 21.
"Honolulu, America Loves You" and "When
the Roses Bloom in Loveland" are this month's
publicity getters, and according to the circulars
dealers can take advantage of a special price by
ordering equal quantities of both songs.
DEATH OF PAUL A. RUBENS
Paul Alfred Rubens, prominent composer of
operatic scores, among them the "Girl From
Utah" and "The Balkan Princess," died on Mon-
day of this week at Falmouth, England. Mr.
Rubens was born in 1875, and in his early days
studied law, entering the music profession at a
later date. His latest work was the music of
"Hetty" now playing in New York.
