"Answer Mr. Wilson's Call" Being Featured by
Several Prominent Stars
Copyright owners of the United States are
now assured full protection for their works in
New Zealand following the issuance of an Or-
der in Council by the Executive Council in New
Zealand on February 2, 1917, followed by a cor-
sponding proclamation by the President of the
United States on February 9. The Order in
Council and the proclamation thereof provide
for an exchange of rights, including the rights
covering the mechanical reproduction of music,
such as exists between this country, England
and several of her colonies.

"Miss America" and "When the Bugle Calls"
Getting Enthusiastic Reception
Chas. K. Harris will shortly release two new
songs, one of which in the last several days
has been receiving wonderfully enthusiastic re-
ceptions in "Dance and Grow Thin," the Cocoa-
nut Grove show atop the Century Theatre. The
number is entitled "Miss America," and is sung
by that exceptionally successful singing team,
Van and Schenck, who are also the authors of the
song. The other release is entitled "When the
Bugle Calls," and is a contribution to the spirit
of the times by Chas. K. Harris. The numbers
as usual will appear in some very attractive
Harris title pages.

The A. J. Stasny Music Co. have released their
new patriotic number "Answer Mr. Wilson's
Call," which is the work of Billy Gould, the
well-known vaudeville and musical comedy star.
The number is to receive some good publicity
in the next few weeks besides having been
placed in the repertoire of numerous profes-
sional singers. The title page of "Answer Mr.
Wilson's Call" contains a reproduced photo-
graph of the President in "the center with
sketches of a soldier and sailor on either side
and contains also a border of red, white and blue
stripes, the whole giving it a very attractive ap-
pearance. The number has been receiving very
favorable attention in the last several days
through the medium of professional copies and
band orchestrations.

"Me and My Gal," from the catalog of Water-
son, Berlin & Snyder, is one of the most suc-
cessful songs of the season. The sales of the
number in the past month have been enormous,
due, no doubt, to the fine work of the profes-

A permit to do business in Texas was granted
to the A. J. Showalter Co., of Dalton, Ga., the
