To AnyManWho CanUse
A ScrewDriver
\V^HAT is the hardest thing to knock out of the head of a retail prospect who
* * has had experience with players?
Isn't it the idea of "always getting out of repair?"
It's a fact, now isn't it, that that part of the general public which knows players
thinks the visits of the repair man are almost as familiar as are the visits of the
ice-man or the grocer ?
Right here, then, fix in your mind this fact:
The Simplex Player Action is so simply constructed that any piano tuner can
take care of practically any troubles that might ordinarily arise.
For example, all players are liable to the trouble of foreign substance getting
under the valve and causing a note to "speak" indefinitely. With ordinary actions
think what has to be done to get at the trouble. Sometimes the whole player
almost has to be torn apart.
Suppose it should happen to the Simplex. We say suppose because it usually
doesn't happen. But if it did, any man who owns a screw driver could be
the doctor.
He would merely unscrew the channel board. Then unscrew the offending
pneumatic—which is separate—one of the Simplex Unit Pneumatics. Take
another unit pneumatic, screw it back in place, and go right on playing. None of
the other pneumatics in the scale are affected.
At the Simplex factory it takes not more than 4 or 5 seconds to put a pneu-
matic in place.

The above example is really borrowing trouble. For the construction of the Simplex Unit
Pneumatic practically safeguards against dust under the valve.
Just as the simplicity of the Simplex 4-Piece Valve (vs. 19 or more parts in some player
valves) safeguards against sticking or stiffness.
And just as the Simplex Trapezoid Tracker Bar safeguards against faulty tracking by having
a larger area of opening than the ordinary tracker bar.
Manufacturers: for increased business and increased prestige, get familiar now with the
Simplex Action. Don't think you know anything about the Simplex unless you have seen one
very recently.
If you haven't seen it within the last two years, you haven't any idea what the Simplex really
is and does.
