HOHNER HARMONICAS FOR ARTISTS
Instruments of That Make Have Long Been
Favorites with Professional Performers
LaMont and Wright use Hohner harmonicas
exclusively, and their favorite mouth organ is
the Hohner auto-valve harp No. 100, which they
are using in the illustration herewith. Both
members of the team praise this Hohner har-
monica in the highest terms, and are particular-
ly enthusiastic regarding the uniformity of
Hohner product.

NAT OSBORNE JOINS FEIST STAFF
Weil-Known Song-Writer Signs Contract with
That House—Other Changes in the Staff
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The latest addition to the large Feist staff of
song-writers is Nat Osborne, composer of "That's
the Song of Songs for Me" and other successes,
and who was recently with Shapiro-Bernstein &
Co. Mr. Osborne has several new numbers in
the introductory stage.
Harry Collins, who looks after many of the Feist
interests in the greatest city, reports things to be
humming. He has heard many favorable comments
regarding the elimination of the middle sheet, the
latest Feist innovation in music printing. Joe
Schuster, who has been succeeded by Miss Joyce
behind the band and orchestra counter, is now out
in the field handling the band leaders personally.

The new operetta, "Her Soldier Boy," by Em-
merich Kalman, .composer of "Sari," was pro-
duced by the Shuberts in Newark on Monday
night, April 3. Next week the operetta will go
to Chicago, after which New York may have a
look and a listen. Arrangements for publishing
the entire score have been practically completed
by the Karczag Publishing Co. Some of the
song titles are "My Mother," "The Song of
Home," "Our Native Land," "Golden Sunshine,"
"Oh, Heart of Mine," and three comedy numbers,
"Little Neutral Dog," "Ta-ra-ta," and "Cuckoo."

"The World of Pleasure"
"Salmagundi," a musical comedy, with book
by the late Elbert Hubbard, lyrics by Earl
Carroll and music by Enrico Caruso, has been
accepted by Oliver Morosco for production in
the fall. Mr. Hubbard had written most of the
book when he met his death in the "Lusitania"
disaster. Thereupon his son, Elbert Hubbard,
Jr., completed the manuscript.
GOOD BUSINESS AT WINDMAYER'S
BRANEN AND LANGE PROLIFIC
Fred C. Windmayer, of the Windmayer Music
Co., Atlanta, Ga., is doing an exceptional busi-
ness in sheet music. He was formerly the man-
ager of the sheet music department of the Phil-
lips & Crew Co., and recently opened his pres-
ent store at 83 Peachtree street, occupying it
jointly with LeRoy C. Webb, dealer in Victor
Victrolas and records.
Jeff Brancn and Arthur Lange, whose song,
"When It's Orange-Blossom Time in Loveland,"
has kept the Joe Morris Co. on the jump tilling
orders, have turned out five new numbers which
sound good. The titles of the new songs are
"Santa Rosa," "I Love You So," "By the Shores
of the Irish Sea," "I Couldn't Forget Her," and
"I Gave My Heart and Hand to Some One in
Dixie Land."

NEW CHAPPELL=NOVELLO SONG
Ivor Novello, who wrote the big international
patriotic hit, " 'Till the Boys Come Home," has
now written a successor to that song, entitled
"Laddie in Khaki," or "The Girl Who Waits at
Home." Chappell & Co. look for a duplication
of the success of the first song, though a moder-
ate share of that success would mean big sales.
SIGN UP WITH HAMMERSTEIN
Otto Hauerbach and Rudolf Friml, authors of
"Katinka," now playing at the Lyric Theatre,
New York, have signed a contract with Arthur
Hammerstein to run five years, during which
they will write a series of musical comedies, to
be produced under the Hammerstein manage-
ment.
"GLORIA" IN REHEARSAL
John Cort now has in rehearsal a new operetta
entitled "Gloria," with book and lyrics by Harry
B. and Robert B. Smith and music by Carol
Woess. The piece will have its premiere on
Easter Monday and after a short tour will be
brought into New York.
THEODORE MORSE RECOVERED
The many friends of Theo. Morse will be glad
to learn that that popular song writer has prac-
tically recovered from the siege of pneumonia
that has confined him to his home for some time
past and has resumed his work.
"Underneath the Stars," the Remick dance num-
ber, lias earned the distinction of being introduced
into the big show, "A World of Pleasure."
Herbert Spencer, composer of this big success,
is back in town after a long tour of the road.
He has several new numbers in manuscript
which will be taken up immediately by the
Remick Co. Another new Remick number that
is starting out like a winner is the novelty song,
"That Midnight Frolic of Mine," by A. Seymour
Brown and Albert Gutnble.
PUCCINI'S NEWJ)PERA READY
Puccini, who has worked all winter on three
operas at his home in Lucca, Italy, announces
that two of them, "Rondine" and "11 Tabarro"
(The Mantle) are now ready for production. The
latter piece may be seen in Italy in the fall, but
"Rondine" has been contracted for by the Vienna
State Theatre and is therefore held up by the
war. Puccini is now finishing a third opera
dealing with the fourteenth century, or the time
of the Italian Renaissance.
The tenth anniversary of the opening of the
New York Hippodrome will be celebrated by an
unusually elaborate all-star concert at the big
playhouse on Sunday, April 16.
