Probably working on the idea that the summer
time is the season when the light, frivolous and
humorous music is best appreciated, J. H. Remick
& Co. have just published and begun the exploita-
tion work on two new numbers of the comedy
type. The first of these, and a most promising
song, is "Ypsilanti," by Alfred Bryan and Egbert
Van Alstyne, which has a swinging melody that
should cause it to be heard extensively during
the coming months. The second comedy song is
"Mr. Whitney's Jitney Bus," by A. Seymout
Brown and Clarence Gaskill, which is really
funny and is supplied with enough extra verses
to meet any reasonable demand.
"My Tom Tom Man" is another new Remick
number, being of the present popular Oriental
type. It is by Gus Huhn and Egbert Van Alstyne.
Incidentally a new and .most attractive title page
lias been provided for Remick & Co.'s new ballad
success, "When I Was a Dreamer." It is really
a work of art.
J. Fred 11 elf is said to be planning to re-enter
the publishing field.

PUBLISH NEW JMSEUTRAL" SONG.
'We'll Be a Big Brother to All Nations," Issued
by Acme Music Publishing Co.
One of the latest productions of the Acme Music
Publishing Co., Los Angeles, Cal., is the new song,
based on the neutrality of this country and entitled
"We'll Re a Big Brother to All Nations." Tn addi-
tion to an excellent title a feature of the new mini
ber is the stirring nmrc'i melody to which it is
fitted. "We'll Be a Big Brother to All Nations" was
recently featured very successfully by Creature's
Band at Morosco's Theater in Los Angeles, and is
being used extensively in vaudeville and cabarets
throughout the country. The Parent Tea'chers' As-
sociation, of Long Beach, Cal., has a double quar-
tet singing the number, and it is also being used in
a number of schools. Geo. II. Carr, the veteran op-
eratic baritone, is also singing the number with L:-i-
moneca's Band at Venice, the famous beach resort.

I WANT A LITTLE LOVETROM YOU"
Although only in business about a month, the
Werblow-Fischer Co. has been compelled to secure
new offices in the Strand Theater building, where
it is now located, to take care of its increased busi-
ness. The new quarters are about four times the
size of the old office, which will still be retained.
Alex Gerber, who has been in Boston for the com-
pany during the week, reports some large sales in
that city, over 20,000 copies of "Oh, That Beauti-
ful Band" alone being sold in two days.
ISSUE NEW "LUSITANIA" SONG.
'As the 'Lusitania' Went Down" Title of New
Ballad Published by McKinley Music Co.
One of the most interesting of the songs that
have made their appearance in commemoration of
the "Lusitania" disaster is the pathetic balled just
issued by tne McKnley Music Co., Chicago, 111.,
and entitled "As the 'Lusitania' Went Down." The
lyric of the song is by Arthur J. Lamb, writer of
"Asleep in the Deep" and many other successes,
and the music is by J. Henri Klickmann, composer
of "Sing Me the Rosary," "The Kiss That Made
You Mine,'" etc. Although quickly gotten out, the
new song displays careful preparation bot'.i in the
lyric and the melody, the latter being particularly
good. The number is also set off to advantage
through the medium of a two-color title page of
striking design. The first verse and chorus fol
low:
"AS THE LUSITANIA WENT DOWN."

'J" ie Metropolitan Music Co., St. Louis, Mo., lias
just issued several new songs of excellent cha'-
acter, and of which at least two show promising
signs of future development. The numbers re
ferred to are "There Is Someone Who Is Thinkirg
of You" and "Her Answer," for both of wh'.ch
Nelson (ireenlaw wrote the lyrics and music. The
numbers are both love songs and are provided with
really good melodies. Another Metropolitan Co.
number that has already met with great success is
"When 1 Hesitate with You," a hesitation waltz
by Stanley Epstein. The regular copy of this son;,'
