The C.reat Irish Song Writer,
"I'M ON MY WAY TO
DUBLIN BAY"
Z1T, of New York Journal, says:—
"J'm On My Way to Dublin Bay" will sweep the
country.
SI ME, of Variety, says:—
Everybody can sing "I'm On My Way to Dublin
Bay," and that's why it's a great song.
All the best JUDGES of Songs claim this song
the most genuine hit of its kind.
A SIMPLE, SWEET, POPULAR MELODY
that everybody can play, sing or whistle.
Stanley Murphy, who wrote the lyrics for that
comic ditty, "ON THE 5:15," and that rural ballad,
"COME OVER TO DOVER," and that splendid
double number, "1 WANT TO LINGER," is the

TME REVIEW HEARS
THAT the exchange of courtesies between Great
Britain and the United States in the matter of pro-
tection to composers under the copyright laws of
the two countries as it affects the mechanical re-
production of music is to be welcomed. Now the
courts will have to define the scope of the Presi-
dent's proclamation and the Orders in Council.
THAT in a great number of cases, apparently,
the definitions of the song-writer's "freelancing"
and the actor's "resting" should be synonymous.
THAT a vaudeville performer was arrested in
Canada last week for singing the big Feist hit, "1
Didn't Raise IVly Boy to be a Soldier."
THAT if the singer mentioned had kept up-to-
date he should have known that the British ver-
sion of the song, which pleases the recuiting offi-
cers, reads, "I'm Glad My Boy Grew Up to Be a
Soldier."
THAT if the latest J. H. Remick & Co. number,
"Im On My Way to Dublin Bay," for which Stan-
ley Murphy wrote the lyrics, does not prove to be
a big success, it won't be from lack of pushing.
THAT Chas. K. Harris has apparently struck the
popular chord with his latest publication "Pickin'
on the Old Banjo,"' a clever Cakewalk that has
made its appearance at the psychological moment.
THAT Josh Billings once swore that he admired
the postage stamp because "it stuck to one thing
until it got there."
THAT music publishers who are spending good
business hours worrying about ten cent talking
machine records, might study the above to the ad-
vantage of their catalogs.
THAT with the announcement that the music
dealers' association would meet in New York in
June, several live sheet music salesmen have altered

ARGUMENTS HEARD ON APPEAL.
Arguments were heard in the Appellate Division
of the Supreme Court last week on an appeal from
an order denying the motion of the Ted Snyder
Co., et al., defendants, for a new trial in the action
brought against them by Chas. K. Harris, to re-
strain them from publishing the song, "There's a
Girl in Havana." The appeal for a new trial was
made on the plea of newly discovered evidence.
I he appeal, on which decision was reserved, was
strongly fought.
