issued the score of "Carmen," Georges Bizet's
great opera, which last week won a new vogue, so
to speak, owing to the remarkable, interpretation
of the principal role by Geraldine Farrar at the
Metropolitan Opera House. This volume is out
of. the ordinary, for, apart from the carefully
edited music of this entrancing opera, there is an
introductory essay which is most illuminatingly
written by Philip Hale, the noted musical critic of
Boston. There is also an English version of the
words by Charles Fonteyn Manney.
